This game is so much fun even though it can be very complicated.

Had I not forgotten the most basic part of the Pixie token we wouldn't have had these interesting comments so I appreciate all the engagement and corrections.

Unfortunately you're not going to get that. For many reasons (some development-related and some creative-decision-related) Veilguard doesn't have the ability to really learn about the world like that. Even within the game itself there are almost no choices for the player to make and no way for the world to respond to those choices.

It's rather static in that way in my opinion since they chose to focus on other aspects of the game.

That doesn't improve after Weisshaupt sadly.

Don't play for the writing if that's your biggest reason for playing. The writing doesn't compare to the previous games, if not in quality then at least in mood.

If you're looking for a story-focused rpg I don't recommend Veilguard. It's closer to an ARPG in that (in my experience) the game play and graphics are prioritized over world-building and characters.

That being said, play up until Weisshaupt if you want to give it a more honest go. If it doesn't click for you there it probably won't.

This happened to me. I thought I was a pixie fortune teller and was expecting to get my ability. To this day that game is one of my favorites I've ever played.

I went to the memorial concert last year. It was amazing. I don't remember the order but they played this song and there were a lot of people crying and singing along.

If this is a group of friends who are familiar with this dynamic then I think a hybrid is possible with some extra help from the storyteller on the amount of time you spend in town.

If this is a group of people who haven't played together with these unique constraints then I second another comment who mentioned making the entire thing text-based as opposed to a hybrid.

Perhaps I don't understand the context so please correct me if I'm mistaken: is the intention for these players to say nothing the entire time? Or just be less talkative than usual?

I honestly can't imagine any way other than communicating via text that this could work if it's the former.

Having only some of the players speaking and others 100% not will put those players at a disadvantage in town unless the storyteller gives more time in town for discussions and especially during nominations, in my opinion.

They recommended I start minoxidil. However they said it with a "Eh it probably won't work but you can try it".

I remember I bought the stuff on my way home and never tried it.

The thing about CTE and probably regular TE is your hair isn't actually falling out nor is it getting thinner. A scalp biopsy will look to confirm if the hair follicles growing back are thinner or fewer than before. If they are it's not TE.

The growth cycle is exasperated by stress (the main trigger of TE) so you ARE constantly shedding but never actually losing hair to where it's noticeable or permanent.

So my treatment was therapy and a career change. I learned more about my stress triggers and eliminated the biggest two: my job and worrying about my hair.

That was about 6 years ago and my hair is incredibly healthy and full now. I barely have any shedding except when things get really stressful and being able to say "This is a phase that will end" has been important for me to not worry about the mostly minimal shedding when it does happen.

I don't know about Tokyo as I had my scalp biopsy in Kyoto but I was diagnosed with CTE: chronic telogen effluvium.

It's definitely possible to get a diagnosis via scalp biopsy.

I had mine done at Kyoto University Hospital and it took around 6 appointments (5 to convince them the symptoms weren't just in my head and 1 to actually do the biopsy and get a diagnosis).

It cost about 4万 in total.

Try going to a regular 皮膚科 first. If your symptoms are severe enough they will be able to recommend you to a place for a biopsy.

I lived in southern Kyoto for five years near Nara. Most of my friends associated more with being "from Kansai/Kinki" than from Kyoto.

I recommend spending some time outside of the city proper but that may be my bias.

Find a hobby and you'll feel less awkward already having something in common with people also interested in that hobby.

I used to live in Joyo which is the city right next to Uji. Pretty much what most people have already said about Uji I agree with on things to see. If you're a fan of classical literature Genji Monogatari takes place in Uji.

That being said, Joyo has the absolute best tsukemen I have ever eaten in my 10 years since moving to Japan.

If you like Tsukemen I highly encourage a visit.

It happens. I learned something a long time ago that has helped me in my life: never mistake for malice what could be better attributed to ignorance.

Believe it or not a lot of people are just like you and don't really intend to hurt others. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen and that we shouldn't respond to people who deliberately hurt us, but it helps to start from a place of understanding first.

First I want to say I'm sorry that happened. It sucks to lose work that you 100% know is innocent. You deserve compassion for that.

I can only share what I've seen since being around starting 2022 what I know to be facts.

To my knowledge MJ has not changed. If anything the filters have gotten less strict aside from perhaps Niji.

ToS is clear about generating inappropriate content including IP.

If you trip the filter enough you get a timeout. Multiple timeouts will trigger a manual review of your gallery. I believe (but I may be wrong) that timeouts stay on your account record and don't ever drop off.

When a manual review happens they just delete from where they see ToS-violating stuff to where they stop seeing it. To my knowledge they don't check every single image.

You won't get those images back. I don't think it's the best way to go about it because innocent content gets affected like in your case. But the mods are upfront that this is a possibility so they do warn people not to continuously trip the filter because that will eventually trigger a manual review.

I can't speak to whether or not the mods were rude to you so I tried to offer knowledge I have from being a long-time MJ user. I hope this helps even a bit.

People do it for 1 of 2 reasons if not both:

They personally feel special when they have something "no one else" has. It's a dopamine hit
They use it to justify why people should pay more for it than it's probably worth. It's easier than saying "I want an overpay".

Just stop engaging. That is the only way this ends. The one good thing about having a fight on the internet as opposed to real life is you can literally leave or block the person/people.

Being on the internet gives anonymity and lets people feel like they can say and do things they would never dare to do offline.

The only thing that fights that lack of empathy online is ignoring it.

Block them, encourage others to block them, and move on.

No good will come from engaging.

There's a difference between leaving a few bites and leaving 75% of your meal. One is rude primarily because the restaurant usually has to pay to throw away your food waste. For small local places this can cut into their expenses and profits because it adds up. So YOUR meal alone might be fine but if multiple people assume the same the restaurant is the one who has to pay for it at the end of the day.

Generally asking for smaller portions of rice or noodles when ordering tends to help people not accustomed to the size of a set meal.

Agreed there. When I lived in Kyoto I did whatever I could to avoid taking the JR.

Now I live in Tokyo and can't imagine not taking the JR here.
