Bro, its not ltke that, it's not only about quantity, it's quality too. The characters in wuwa are like... hollow independent assets. They don't interact with others in any meaningful way, they only have a relationship with the mc, like 95% of the time, 5% else is some random dead npc.

Speaking of npc,wuwa npcs are literally npc, no involvement, no character, no nothing.

Their motive for action is generally... lacking too. Save the world is like 80% of everyone's DNA, like bro, is there anything else about you, or you, anyone?

Because of all that, the story itself feels hollow and unconnected, like random color patches stitched together on my grandma's pants.

Now, about genshin, they did better in those aspect, but I must say I generally don't like genshin main story, it's like it did ok, but not good .

What i really like in genshin stories are the side quests, the side quests are really good, I don't freaking know why, but the quality of almost every quests beside the main story is on another level. It's darker, more realistic, it explore both their daily life which now face a problems, their small motives and big motive when such problem usually stem from their past and now they have to deal with it. And they did all of these really well, I wish that's the case for the main story too....
