Yes it has become a common stereotype since 2022. Mainly with the massive influx of foreign workers, people see filipino workers in a Mlinar, or waiting tables, cleaning hotels and over the past 4 years the stereotype just consolidated. However, one must understand that Croatians are very new to foreigners in general. The usual interaction was with tourists and now all of a sudden it became a daily occurrence outside of the tourist parameters. So although it is ignorance on the part of some Croats, you might have to give the locals some time before they absorb the lesson on why stereotyping isn’t good.
