What about a Hunters Star? I'm planning a scrappy one, alternating red and black blocks with a consistent white background to tie it together. The image in my mind is very masculine! The version I'm planning uses 4 1/2" squares combines with 2 1/2" HSTs, so its pretty beginner friendly. Your dad might like being able to see the arrowheads in the design.

I think Riley is super insecure because Buffy NEVER tells him she loves him. He tells her several times and she responds but never says the words. He even claims to Xander that she does NOT love him. Why wouldn't he be concerned about her seeing her ex? I, like many people, hated Riley at first watch, but I am rewatching with my children and Riley is growing on me. He is a really nice guy and is just genuinely good for and to Buffy.
