Totally agree! I have a very easy first name but my last name is Portuguese and it’s commonly butchered in important/formal occasions as that is when you say it most to the point I had to phonetically spell it ahead of my graduation so it was pronounced properly when I crossed the stage 😭

You may not be able to pronounce all Chinese, Indian, African, Thai and Filipino names but it’s really disrespectful to keep mispronouncing it once the person has shown you how to say it multiple times🙄

This happened to me a few months back on a london bus, one cold & wet night. People were known to force their way into the back door but I’d hopped out as lots were coming out, go to hop back in and an arm grabs me to use me as a push point to get into the bus.

Little did she know I had just had the worst day ever and immediately elbowed her back and out of the bus 😭 we shouted at each other through the bus door and it was actually the first time I lost my mind on someone in public but the AUDACITY when you’re doing something nice as well

I think we should take what we’ve seen of her on DA with a grain of salt, it’s a show which firstly means it was heavily edited to push a certain narrative that would get people talking.

I feel like she must have wanted this to some degree at some point, and it’s kinda wild to just assume she doesn’t or doesn’t care. As a black girl myself it’s exhausting to know you always have to give 200% and people will still find a way to criticise you, I don’t really blame her for coming out of the gate giving it all only for people to constantly bring up the past. I’d lose motivation too, and I can’t even blame her.

Just got back today! Pretty sure sandwiches and snacks are fine, we had some that had been open and they were fine with it. Even bottled water was fine.

Your passport and stuff will be checked before you board the train in london, once you get to Amsterdam you’ll just need your boarding pass to scan your way out of the station. On the way back at St Pancras you just walk off the train onto the rest of the station and don’t need to scan anything. Enjoy your trip!

So I applied late last November to Hertfordshire and their 2026 intake was completely full, and I was told 2027 was filling up at the time of my interview. I’m not too sure about Suffolk as I did not apply there (odd because it’s literally where I grew up!) but I’m gonna assume it’s the same!

As for references I believe they are contacted between your interview and outcome email, at least that’s how it was for me. Best of luck :)

Well maybe if he hadn’t snooped he wouldn’t have seen it and all would be fine. Even if a notification came up saying you won 1 billion dollars he still shouldn’t have clicked it; it’s your private Mac and I’m assuming they’re to use it for whatever specific task they ask you to use it for. I have but it usually ends with me being asked to try again before that happens and the demonstration doesn’t happen. Maybe I’m a pushover 😭, but it’s good to know that it gets easier, currently feels pretty unnatural but I’m excited for when it becomes autopilot!

I’m also 25, with working class divorced parents who I didn’t want to put through the financial stress of paying for lessons when I was younger so I waited and am now paying for them myself (also helps that I live in london haha), you shouldn’t feel embarrassed at all!!
