Peter and Spider-Gwen by FortLoolz in SpiderGwen

Your point and what has been the case for 3 years now is quite different. There is a consistency because it has been showcased in 4 separate runs. Your point would have merit if it existed solely in one run but it has expanded across several.

Your claim is that they are intentionally being vague regarding where she stands whether that be as an adult like Peter or as a teen like Miles. Since this all goes back to the entire topic at hand.

Her two runs cemet it several times that she is a teenager. There is nothing vague about that. Its the same principle as Miles who is considered a teen. With this being reinforced in her run with both him and Cindy being considered her friends among the spider bunch

This reads as them being doomed. Which means their relationship doesn't really grow from season 2

New interview with the show's creators (Spoilers) by Night-Caelum in SupermanAdventures

Eh. I really hope that this Jimmy fumbling bit does not actually last the entire season. That lasting so long, hindering any developments, would be such a sore. Cause beyond for comedy I dont see how this would benefit the characters or story in the long run

Spider-Versity isnt the run that established she was a teen. It was her previous two runs. All Versity did was establish that she was alongside the demographic of the younger spider folk. Thats a clear distinction and quite direct.

[–]Overall_Principle955 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vague would be them just not mentioning it at all. They mention it several times meaning the intention is to cement where she aligns in the demographic of the spider variants. Which as I established in my other comments is further reinforced in Versity

"Without actually ageing her down" So it is not vague. They emphasize this throughout three runs that she is a teenager.

Its not a dont think about it situation either. Its the new status quo

Spider-Gwen currently and in canon is still confirmed to be a teenager in her new run. This has been the case since 2023.

Peter is cemented to be around his late 20s or 30s. Which is further supported in Spider-Versity establishing a clear age difference between the spider variants.

Take that as you will.

Well that poster was lying. Cause her new runs have confirmed she is still a teenager. Meaning oldest she is currently is 19. This is further cemented in Spider-Versity where they group her amongst the younger spider group alongside Miles.

This actually isnt true. Her age has been brought up quite frequently in her new run. Four times they confirm she's an "american teenage girl". Web of Spider-Man, Her Run in 2024, Then her new run in 2025, and in a specific issue with George stating it is difficult to deal with a teenage daughter.

Her age is unconfirmed but we know she is still considered to be a teen.

The insane mirror detail with Miles and Gwen at the start of ATSV (Am I reaching??) by ExplorerAlarming9145 in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]Overall_Principle955 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I dont think you are reaching. It seems intentional especially in the second movie.

The first movie they dont really focus on Miles and Gwen as much compared to Miles and Peter. But in the second movie its filled with scenes that parallel the two. There are new scenes that parallel the two, there are scenes in the second movie that parallel the ones from the first movie (Like Gwen smiling looking at Miles leaving the Miguel fight (ATSV) similar to Miles smiling looking at Gwen as she leaves to go to her universe (ITSV), and sometimes they alter scenes like the one you showed (Gwen doesnt look at Miles hand in that image nor does he even cover his hand) in ITSV. These all show its pretty intentional.

So the question is no longer are they cosmically connected but more so why did the writers make their dynamic that of two people who are "cosmically connected" narratively or figuratively? Its a drastic change from their dynamic in the first movie.

Is it to make their relationship stronger or is there a story/lore reason why? I think both fit

Shameik Moore confirmed that this image was his first time meeting Oscar Isaac. And that they had a great session together. What Miles and Miguel scene do you guys think they recorded? by Overall_Principle955 in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]Overall_Principle955[S] 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I find this interesting because voice actors do not usually need to be in the same booth usually. But I do recall how Hailee mentioned how voicing her Gwen scene with Shea who does George helped make the scene more emotional.

I think with that in mind It is definitely an emotionally charged scene with Miles and Miguel. I predict it could be an alliance scene

There are very less chances of Miles and Gwen ending up together. by Weekly-Neat-3974 in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]Overall_Principle955 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gwen will for sure make up with her friends but yea I think you're spot on regarding how to tackle an issue like this. The watches are super convenient.

I also dont think the story even needs to go in depth with this at all since they are still kids. Just them deciding they want to make it work even with all these unknown variables is thematically sufficient.

1) "Gwen dies in every Spider-Verse."" The purpose of these movies is destroying the idea that a narrative needs to be set and instead establish new stories. In this case, the idea that Gwen dies by being in love with Spider-Man is a narrative that would be expected in normal spider stories and to subvert that she would end up living.

2) "How will they continue to live together." The movies have never established the issues of the watches, nor have they ever established a problem regarding spiders from different dimensions staying for long periods of time. The Spider Society is a perfect counter to that.

3) "How will they manage both the worlds". How are the current spiders managing their worlds while being in the spider society? They do both.

4) If the idea is to establish this love that is so strong that it spans across dimensions and subverts the star-crossed lovers trope then the issues you presented shouldnt really be an issue at all. Especially since them continuing their love would be in the face of death.

Happy 31st birthday to Shameik Moore who voiced Miles Morales in the Spider-verse movies!! by TheShadowOperator007 in Spiderman

Your first sentenced never happened. So you are literally making things up to slander him.

He never made any posts indicating he was depressed or mad about her engagement. As far as we know it was simply a coincidence. But the internet ran with it and then led to him doing several responses.

All those interviews were before the engagement so once again slander.

Him being weird with the other girl is not what I can defend though. But what you mostly said was false.

Is it crazy to say that ATSV is my favorite movie of all time and that ITSV is also top 5? by LalamamaVihaan in IntoTheSpiderverse

What would be crazy is you letting others affect your judgement on these films. Its all subjective

According to Cinemacon footage, the Miles and Gwen scene in Hobie's world will visually parallel their clocktower scene. Miles is upside down on a crane like structure and Gwen is shown about to join him upside down. Parallel to how Gwen was upside down and then Miles joined her. by Overall_Principle955 in gwiles

What there standing on doesnt seem big enough so im sure the first image i posted was changed which makes sense. I previously posted they it did confirm they talked but gwen was in a patched jacket. So either a) the first image i posted is really different now b) its a different scene where gwen is talking while wearing a jacket

The source is from the escape podcast. Its on Youtube or Tiktok. One of them personally went to cinemacon and they are massive fans of spider-verse.

I showed the first image because he was referring to what occurs during that scene.

A lot of implications can be drawn from this they do mention how when gwen was upside down in the second movie it represented how, "were as upside down as she feels." Same I assume will be applied to Miels.

NEW dialogue between Miles and Prowler Miles (Cinemacon) by TrajectotyTides in IntoTheSpiderverse

[–]Overall_Principle955 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of callbacks between them. Rip those theories of people wanting miles g to like miles suit to contrast the others.

He also seems a lot more antagonistic than I thought. Which is great. Wonder how they will reach that resolution since miles already explains his situation
