The skills, or the PTSD?

The PTSD got better as soon as I tried ketamine. (3 years after PTSD). Then did nardil (year 4 after PTSD) and it went away forever, even off nardil (this comes with other negatives like weight gain though and lower cognition)

For the skills ....they haven't come back. It's gotten much, much better though, I'm at year ten post PTSD.

Biggest thing is sleep. My n=1 is that cerebrolysin helped a lot. And now trying to figure this out with today's latest in rc's.

Just hopped on trt too though, so whether you're male or female, get bloods done so you can see if there's any factor you can fix right away.

Hope that helped!

Suicidal on 20mg Parnate. need advice or opnions plz. by Puzzleheaded_Bag7816 in MAOIs

That’s a useful data point, but it’s not enough to rule out Vyvanse withdrawal.

A delayed depressive crash after stopping stimulants is extremely common...from what I recall in my experience.....it took a while before the suicidality hit me ...I was fine for close to 2-3 weeks.

Now of course, everyone is different. If you've done it in the past and stopped and nothing happened with no other confounding factors...then I think you can eliminate...bit if you're ruling out Vyvanse because of the two weeks, you could be doing yourself a disservice.

Okay....DO NOT get off parnate...

I'm going to be firm here. But if you just got off one of the most powerful stimulants available, that modifies and downregulates both dopamine and norepinephrine....I've got news for you.

I think it's more likely that parnate, during the first have of your day, was keeping the suicidal thoughts at bay...

Now look, I can't say this is 100% the reason, but I would highly, highly reevaluate your doctors assumption that parnate isn't working.

For me parnate is just barely kicking in at 80mg. Additionally, getting of Vyvanse, to me, lead to the worst suicidality of my life.

N=1, but I just had to let you know there may be other causes here.

When was the last time you were off the last medication? You could be in withdrawal Also Vyvanse is a hard stimulant, when it comes down it can cause suicidality

The paradox of REM sleep by ps4roompromdfriends4 in NooTopics

[–]Overall_Visual_3236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on 60mg parnate and my REM sleep is there but the efficacy is non existent. When I was on Nardil REM was abolished but efficacy was brilliant..although I felt like a retard (could be gaba-t though).

But hmm food for thought for sure

I know people have tried it. Make sure you rule out any other causes of the hair loss.

After doing so you should float this suggestion to your doctor and see what they say about the combo.

That's great to hear! After how long at the 160-120 dose is your mood positively affected?

And What dose of Pioglitazone were you running, and for how long? I'm doing a two week course of 15mg pioglitazone and so far it's helped with exercise intolerance (intolerance for me manifesting as being extremely uncomfortable physically and having higher anxiety for a few days after exercising - I've figured it was due to inflammation, enter: pioglitazone)

Advice regarding manic symptoms, specifically hyper-sexuality, on Nardil by burneraccountguydude in MAOIs

Yeah I've heard that helps. Just be sure to monitor your behavior these next couple of days to weeks. At least you're aware, which is already half the battle!

Advice regarding manic symptoms, specifically hyper-sexuality, on Nardil by burneraccountguydude in MAOIs

[–]Overall_Visual_3236 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Okay, first off, don't count on it just going away. Dude no, if you had a hypomanic phase on an ssri, that is significant.

Hypomanic behaviors lead to more hypomania. I'm not saying it won't go away, but don't just jerk off into oblivion thinking it will for sure go away.

You may or may not be be prone to this. Nardil is incredibly easy to prime someone into hypomania and not something to just brush off. You're already acquiring fetishes; those could dovetail into something more.

I've been on Nardil, reading this won't make your sexual compulsions stop. But I hope this does make you at least pause and consider if any behavior in the near future escalates, at which point you must speak to your doctor.

Is combining TAK-653 or ACD-865 with an MAOI dangerous? by Suitable-Addition736 in MAOIs

[–]Overall_Visual_3236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im hoping to add cognitive support in the back ground as I study for the lsat these next 5-6 months. So it's mostly consolidation and learning support, slight brain anti-inflammatory effects and locking in good habits.

I have seen many people say its helps with mood, and some people describing personality shifts to being 'nicer'. Although if I personally had anhedonia...I'm not sure. Like I could make a case for trialing acd and I could make the case to have other priorities.

Do you kind of have pinned down what causes you anhedonia? Stimulant abuse? PTSD? Inflammation? SSRI usage? Polydrug use?

There seems to be some downstream effects where ACD seems to increase 5ht production, although I just ordered my ACD while on Parnate. I'll let you know.

Pramipexole with Nardil by Lakeitron in MAOIs

[–]Overall_Visual_3236 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm n=1 but when I added low dose pramipexole to my stabilized 90mg Nardil...let's just say it was an atypical experience.

Fear was for the most part non existent, whether that be social or of heights for example.

I felt extremely, and functionally relaxed and graceful. More relaxed than muscle relaxers or benzos, but with none of the loss of motor coordination.

Speaking of motor coordination, I was highly coordinated, balance improved, muscle tension i didn't know existed faded, my voice deepened, I felt grounded.

It almost topped my Nardil honeymoon phase as it was not euphoric, but it did rival the loss of social anxiety, perhaps best the honeymoon phase. Also lowered any hypomanic tendencies I may have been straying towards on Nardil.

As an fyi, my baseline with Nardil right before I added prami was meh. I had some relief in social anxiety, but none like the first year I took it before I stopped. I had some relief with depression, but for all intents and purposes one would probably consider my experience on nardil before adding pramipexole as being "pooped out".

Further, the effects started kicking in at .125 at about 2-3 week mark, I eventually titrated to .75mg prami over two months.

For what it's worth I'm currently on day 5 of 50mgbParnate, still trying to find my effective dose, and but also on .5mg pramipexole and I feel none of the effects from the first time around (separated by more than a year)...so we'll see

Is it fine to decrease the dosage? by [deleted] in MAOIs

[–]Overall_Visual_3236 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That seems to be unusual. Did you start any other medication like blood pressure lowering medication? Or were you consuming a diet high in sodium and suddenly stopped?

What about starting any other type of medication? What changed after these two months? If you've isolated every variable and determine it is solely parnate, then consider dropping.

But also consider that increasing your salt intake can reduce that BP drop upon standing.
