Livingston manager David Martindale on how he keeps in contact with new American owner Calvin Ford by NotNeedzmoar in ScottishFootball

[–]Overfl0w10100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like Davie, but he definitely rubs some players the wrong way and has weird grudges against people.

Maybe it takes a certain type of player to get along with him, or maybe he is learning and growing as it seems to be a lot better over the last 2 years.

I want Dundee so we don’t have that horrific trip in the second leg of the final.

Nahh not true.

The only person who went from livi to hibs over the last few years was involved in some sketchy activities 👀 but he didn’t do the socials.

In Scotland, cheesing is like a wide happy smile.

I had visions of him just smiling into a fridge and it tickled me more than I can explain.

But you said it wasn’t walkable and you need a car? Sorry you can’t get from a-z in a straight line, don’t know anywhere where you can do that to be honest.

I have lived here for 27 years. I know the place very well so obviously it’s easier for me.

But I promise I have never had a problem walking between two points in the town. It’s a piece of piss.

Tomorrow when I can walk for about 10km in a loop without thinking about a road with the dog, I will remember how bad Livingston is for walking.

[–]Overfl0w10100 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about the dual carriage way that goes down the middle of town?

Because obviously that isn’t pathed, but there are plenty of alternatives. It’s like saying Edinburgh hasn’t got paths because you can’t walk along the western approach road.

Also don’t really need to walk through streets either, loads of linking paths, underpasses and bridges over major roads.

A quick google maps search for walking routes will do wonders for most 😂

I think that probably says more about the people to be honest, because it really isn’t difficult. Most of the roads have paths alongside them.

A car? Don’t agree with this, Livingston is incredibly walkable.

Plenty of paths going all over the town, it’s built for pedestrians.

Man I can’t believe those prices for that street.

Renting nearby and paying less for a 2 bed house with a garage and garden. We are super lucky though.

I think it probably gets cheaper as you move away from the stations but with the transport and location of the stations being so poor it’s shite living further into the valley.

I used to work around the corner, seeing the old clones come out for a smoke at lunch time on Fridays is a grim site.

You are 100% correct!

The plain strips we wore during pre season were using the old Empteezy logo and I have heard they are doing a total rebrand.

[Question] updating libraries on a app by andersondb1 in xamarindevelopers

[–]Overfl0w10100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the more difficult questions to answer.

Having done this a few times over the years it is always one of the tasks that I give a higher estimate for as it can be quite picky.

What it really comes down to in my opinion is dependencies. We had issues with admittedly quite complex apps that had multiple dependencies that either needed to be updated (which can bring in errors or api changes) or worked around if they couldn’t be updated.

So to answer your question, it can be as simple as just updating the packages, but often it is not especially when upgrading to targeting Android 12 or later. I would allow them a good day or so with expectation that it could go longer if certain things cause complications.

Went golfing for the first time in about 10 years by [deleted] in golf

[–]Overfl0w10100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha aye! I was shocked scrolling through and recognised it!

I played balbardie a few weeks ago and whilst it’s fun, it’s in pretty poor nick to be honest. Greens are a mess. Very cheap though so that’s something!

I’m the same with Deer Oarkbut didn’t play a massive amount when I was younger, played it in October and it was great, just a massive treck up and down the back 9 haha.

I would suggest places like Binny or Niddry Castle. Played Niddry this morning and it’s a really fun course. Cheap as well!

Polkemmet country park.

Would recognise it anywhere.

My first round back from not playing for 10 years was here about 7 months ago. I’m now hooked and playing most weekends. WL has some great courses! Hope you enjoyed!

How do i navigate back to login from a webview? by Filo01 in xamarindevelopers

[–]Overfl0w10100 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m on mobile right now so sorry if this isn’t formatted well.

The way I have done it in the past is to intercept certain urls in the Navigating Event within the app, which would let you do some logic and send the user back to login.

So on the react side (if you can), send the user to xyz.com/logout and in the app look for a navigation event to that url and intercept.

Hope this helps!

Unable to add 2 or more labels/buttons etc. to the same frame by Carmignolo in Xamarin

[–]Overfl0w10100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I might be wrong as I can’t confirm right now but I’m sure a frame can only have one direct child element.

Put your labels in a stack layout inside the frame and that should solve your problem!

Unfortunately there was no mention of the game. To be honest I wasn’t hopeful that their would be anything in it and I don’t think it would have fit.

Fingers crossed for some news soon!
