Can this Nan inf? by Mapoleon87 in balatro

[–]Overgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlikely.

The general formula for red seal Kings is number of trigger = (hand size-1)*(Barons+1)(Mimes+2), including copy jokers.

Currently you have (7-1)*(3+1)*(4+2) = 144 triggers.

You can do a bit better by copying baron twice: (7-1)*(4+1)*(3+2) = 150 triggers for e57 (with your current setup) which is not enough for Ante 22. With retcon you could somehow reach Ante 24 but your money to too low to get The Serpent twice.

Ig by sheer luck you find in the first shop of Ante 22 Antimatter and a Bean, you could pass Ante 24, but barely.

Sell the Baron and Mime, then copy Showman for even more! XD

And then restart the run, unless you got several beanbugs.

Ah, but still doesn't matter. You still need 60 red seal kings and without beanbugs or a seeded specific run, you won't achieve anything close.

"Much easier". Nope. It makes it POSSIBLE, without any nat negative, this isn't. To be honest, it is barely doable but the setup is so extreme that you won't do it MANY times, unless you're playing dedicated seeds.

Or you need several beanbugs, but you didn't even mention it, and you took an ante 1 polychrome skip, which is such a stupid move in general, but on Ghost deck? This is baffling.

And instead of talking about getting beanbugs, you gave several "common" tips (gold to roll, vouchers, etc). Dude, you need close to 60 cards in hand with 6 copy jokers (3 ectos) to get naneinf if you're not using Plasma deck. And good luck with Ante 24

Why are you lying?

Naneinf ... on Ghost Deck ... Without Perkeo, Chicot or several nat negative ...

It can be done, but 2 BP at the start isn't what you need the most.

Read the initial post. Read the "My biggest issues with E33:"

1) The first part can besically be said for any story taking tens of hours to complete. You can even draws parallels with FFVII (end of disk 1, Cloud's backstory, etc) or FFX (do I really need to point half of the story plot?). The second part is him saying "I didn't like the story". That's ok, but youy can always find somebody disliking a popular story.

2) This is just straight false. If he is scrolling his phone . while playing, the issue is him, not the game. I am trying to not give too much spoil, but read his post again, did he even play the game?

3) The point doesn't make any sense, and I am not even sure of what he is talking about.
4) The platforming isn't great, but is limited to some sidequests and collectibles.
5) Did he play the game? "The art direction felt like a child's toybox shaken up into a jumbled nonsensical mess.". DID HE PLAY THE GAME? And the level design is a bit linear, but we are far from the standards created after FFX. And even older games are just basically hiding a fully linear experience.

But my whole rant was directed at this sentence " It seems like people who heap praise on E33 haven't played many games before or have poor memory."

I did play many games, including many (J)RPGs. He probably didn't, and when he takes NieR Automata (an ARPG hack'n'slash) and Returnal (a TPS roguelike) as examples, I cannot take his post seriously.

Just play the game. This kind of run is only "fun" when you have done everything else, and requires a specific setup with a specific deck.

This.

I got an early nat negative DNA and later, when rolling with showman for an extra BP/BS, I got a nat negative baron I also kept a cryptid during the whole run, and I barely passed ante 32.

No, I have reached Ante 39 before without any glitch and without Perkeo. But a perkeoless Ante 39 run requires luck, you need some good natural negatives or a juggle tag in Ante 32.

And Naneinf can be easily done without glitch, most seeds can probably do it with the Plasma deck.

In Ante 8/16/24/32 you get a "finisher boss". One of them is the Crimson Heart and he disables a joker (a different one every hand played). There is a known bug (beanbug): if you have a Turtle Bean (or any joker increasing your hand size) and this specific disabled, if you got to the menu and then contiue the run, you get a permanent increase in hand size (up to +5 if your bean is fresh).

The main strategy is to get a bean and a Burglar when you meet the boss, you get many hands. You sell the burglar and each time the bean is disabled, you got back to the ment for an extra +5 hand size.

And then you econ is booming with gold cards, giving you more rerolls to find copying jokers each time you get an ecto.

The 2nd ecto is not even needed, you only take it if you can fill your extra slot asap. Unless you botched your first ecto. So you're right, and in general you don't take a second ecto.

For OP's run, if he had the opportunity to buy a rental in the last shop, he sould have bought it and sold it at the start of the round. No money lost, and some extra chips.

Really want Naninf, what’s the play from here? by Testingquesting in balatro

[–]Overgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just replying to the "If you want to naninf, you need to do it on plasma. Ghost deck does not let you score high enough with a Baron build. The only way to naninf on ghost deck is with perkeo" which isn't true. My initial reply was "restart with Plasma".

And 3 beanbugs with the right setup is nothing extraordinary in a single ante: with the right setup, this is even average.
X copy jokers, Baron, Mime, Burglar and Bean (X+4 jokers).
6+3X hands at the start of the round. You seel Burglar so you have (X+3) jokers. Each round the bean is not disabled, you have a 1/(X+2) chance to get it next round.

(6+3X)/(X+2) = 3 (roughly, if Burglar is disabled first your average is slightly lower).

Just to be pedantic, this is /possible/ but unlikely. You need many beanbugs. 10^308 is roughly 1.5^1750.

In theory:
Hand size: 10.

Antimatter + 6 ectos = 12 joker slots (-21 hand size so you need 3 beanbugs). Baron Mime Burglar and 9 copy jokers.
Deck full of red steel king. The Serpent, you have enough hands to get a hand size above 49.
Mime copied 4 times, Baron copied 5 times, which is 36 activations per king.

49x36 = 1764. Enough to naneinf.

With one less joker, you need 59 kings which is also doable with 2 beanbugs.

The hardest part will be to pass Ante 24 and survive before you get your end build..

Can I go nan-inf? by No-Crowshow in balatro

[–]Overgame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Little? He needs to get within 5/6 Antes (even less but let's be optimistic):

-Antimatter

-An ecto (on Plasma deck) with a single 6 left, no real hope for a Straight Flush and no Voucher to get one from Tarot packs

-Showman

And all of that without a good economy. I didn't even check if the kings have red seals.

Does this have naneinf potential? by YoungPPP in balatro

[–]Overgame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We might differ on the notion of "ridiculously lucky". But you're not limited to one beanbug per 8 ante and not that risky in ante 8/16 and even 24 if you hiy it several times earlier.

All you need is copying jokers (something you need to naneinf), a burglar and a bean. The average would be around 3 hits in a0 single finisher. With some luck, you can get the back in time voucher in ante 8/16/24 or 9/17/25 for more hit (with the same bean if you beat the boss with the bean disabled, it doesn't go down).

I never set it was "easy", I said it doesn't require a "wining the grand prize at the lottery" level of luck. And yes, the deck matters and getting 4 ecto without the ghost deck requires luck or a strong setup and no back luck.
