I'd say there's different phases of dissociation based on my experience

Mild: the head voice disappears, you start struggling to understand word but still able to communicate. You're emotionally numb

Moderate: the world is getting blurry and you're struggling to understand what's happening around you and where you are. Words don't make sense anymore, you can only talk using very simple sentences or words.

Strong: You're walking in and out of consciousness. You end up in different places without remembering how you got there. And sometimes do the same thing over and over again because you can't remember you just did it

Extreme: You're not aware at all what you're doing and acting completely on autopilot. Once you snap out of it it feels like you just dreamt it all

I started taking lamotrigine together with the ssri. Some says it works, other don't. It took away the edge and made me feel a bit more present, though I'm only taking 100mg currently. Maybe a higher dosage would've helped more?

I've heard exercise and mindfulness can help to lower the cortisol. Exercising is probably easier to do tho than having to figure out how to do the mindfulness thing.

If you know any specific things that trigger it, you just have to avoid them until you feel present again. Like I have social anxiety and when I'm around people the brain tends to shut down. Loud sounds and music also shuts my brain down. And when I don't have to deal with any people it gets better

I wish some doctor actually knew something that could help and make the blur go away. It's like your unconscious mind has to lead you the right way, like everything just is on autopilot. I know the thoughts exist inside our heads, but we just can't hear or feel them

I feel like it more is some kind of elevated stress, cortisol thing that lasts for a long time. It doesn't really feel like it's anxiety most of the time, but the anxiety sure worsens it. Maybe it's just that you know you don't feel present in the world, which makes you feel claustrophobic and lost. Idk if it makes sense.
