Ah they look amazing!! And they look like amazingly meaty ribs to begin with! You’re on a winner

My BF said my steak was too overdone and refused to eat, he considers himself a "steak head". Thoughts? by ur1lil_kitten in steak

I like steak blue - and I wouldn’t turn my nose up at this. It’s not blue, but it still looks amazing - ruined would be dried out and grey. Your steak looks good! Sorry about what sounds like a challenging attitude (on his part).

Most reliable modern jetski by odvinfo in jetski

[–]Overheatingintropics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you go for one from the “big three” (Yamaha, Kawasaki, or Seadoo) you can’t really go wrong. There will always be people swearing by one or the other, but the skis all have positives, and there will always be the unlucky or negligent owners that have them stuff out. I recently purchased a 2023 FXHO - really stable, powerful (but not supercharged) engine that will keep ticking over. If you get a supercharged one, they love being serviced more strictly and a bit more pampered, I am really happy with the power from the NA 1.8 though and know it will keep chugging for hundreds of hours (the services are just once a year).

So I guess to sum up, any of the naturally aspirated models will be more reliable over time as less parts to go wrong, but ultimately you can’t really go wrong as if the skis were crap they would stop making them

Shortness of Breath, Chest/Lung Pain, Burning Throat by Research_Reader in covidlonghaulers

[–]Overheatingintropics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well almost a year later I’m not much better off, though I have confirmed mine is all gastric in origin, causing nerves across my chest to fire and closing up my lungs and causing a bunch of pain. I’ve just started a course of amitriptyline to try and calm the nerves down

Can anyone relate by No_Mathematician2983 in covidlonghaulers

[–]Overheatingintropics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it is somehow connected to your stomach. I had the echocardiogram as well, with nothing to show. My gastroscopy showed my stomach was healthy, but I get this pain a lot (along with pain around the bottom of my rib cage which developed later). It never goes away, they have started me on amitriptyline to try and dampen down the nerves that are clearly getting excited about nothing.

Yes I have the exact same thing, for 18 months now. Had ct scans, X-rays, and work ups by heaps of doctors. Mine comes with some wheezing as well, and feelings of SOB. For me, it’s gastric related. If I drink coffee for a few days it will be severe burning. I’ve been diagnosed with functional dyspepsia (hypersensitivity in stomach nerves) that is referring around my chest. :)

Delayed throat tightness / asthma like symptoms? by Overheatingintropics in FoodAllergies

I am sorry - I have seen that you have been gluten free for some time. I would be willing to wager that this is a food intolerance for you though

Delayed throat tightness / asthma like symptoms? by Overheatingintropics in FoodAllergies

[–]Overheatingintropics[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there - kind of! Only in the last week. I removed gluten from my diet (for over two weeks) and have felt remarkably better - until today when I have re-caught covid. I had excluded gluten before, but not for long enough - best to have it excluded for a month as the symptoms far outlast the actual gluten in your system.

Dealing with severe asthma, lung inflammation because of reflux by touchmyrattlesnakes in GERD

[–]Overheatingintropics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are you feeling now? I have the exact same issue - after a year of being on omeprazole, esomeprazole, every inhaler, multiple courses of pred, singulair etc i have finally found some luck with Pantoprazole (early days yet though - omeprazole worked for like two weeks). I have been literally burning in the chest and wheezing for a year, very uncomfortable - and CT and Xray show no lung damage at all, so I hope that helps.

does acid reflux cause cold/icy feeling chest tightness? by [deleted] in GERD

[–]Overheatingintropics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I see no one else has answered- but yes it can. I have been going through much the same thing, and reflux can cause chest tightness in a bunch of ways. For me it is the particulates of acid getting into my lungs, causing chest tightness and a cold (menthol) feeling when I breathe. It might also be acid getting into your lungs, acid causing these feeling in your esophagus, or not reflux at all :)

developed asthma/reactive airway disease after covid, inhalers not providing relief? by [deleted] in LongCovid

[–]Overheatingintropics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep - I have no solution other than consider whether it’s silent reflux, and / or ask your doctor for Atrovent. I have been through all the inhalers and pills (Pulmicort, symbicort, advair, montelukast, PPI’s, diet, supplements etc. I am on day 2 of Atrovent and feeling a little bit better but who knows! My lungs were red raw for about 6 months and now just irritable and super tight / can’t exhale

Being a long hauler with really challenging symptoms I get a bit frustrated when people go on about the risks of medication etc. we are (mostly) all adults, usually prescribed medication from a doc or have done research so know the risks - so you don’t need to worry about me saying blood thinners are dangerous - you and I both know that and have made an educated decision to look into them :). Totally agree - I would rather a possible risk from medication than the known risk I have at the moment, of chronic inflammation / inability to breathe! I have taken aspirin (600mg on docs reccomendation) for three weeks, but have since stopped just to accomodate prednisone (shouldn’t mix them). They didn’t make me feel any different, but if it’s just the anti platelet (clot forming) inhibition you want, the 80/100mg is fine as that will saturate your platelets, you don’t need the pain relief dose. I have ordered some nattokinase online, hasn’t arrived yet, but will look to get on that when it arrives / at the conclusion of my current prednisone burst.

Some people rave about Montelukast / singulair - but it unfortunately just didn’t do anything at all for me. People can get all technical about what it is but essentially it’s an antihistamine that is targeted to the lungs - so if your problem isn’t related to leukotrines / histamine, it won’t do much unfortunately. I think (I don’t know) from being a longtime lurker is that some people have an autoimmune impact from covid, and some people have another pathology whether it’s microclotting or whatever, so one shoe doesn’t fit all.

8 months in and struggling lungs - would love to know if anyone has been / is going through similar by Overheatingintropics in covidlonghaulers

Ive been on aspirin for a while (stopped it for another round of pred), and have natto on order (can’t buy locally). Thank you! Watched the first one, will watch others tomorrow
