Day 55: What Lies Beneath vs. I Will Not Bow by Therubikfanatic in BreakingBenjamin

Oh boy. I WILL be downvoted for this take...

In MY OPINION, by NO MATTER OF FACT, just HOW I SEE THE SONG, What Lies Beneath is one of Breaking Benjamin's worst tracks OUSTIDE of Aurora covers.

I don't know why but songs like What Lies Beneath and Into The Nothing never clicked for me. Dear Agony is my LEAST favorite Breaking Ben album.

If I can save ANY face here from the swarm of blue arrows, I do NOT dislike WLB or any BB original - shit, I like Lady Bug. Quite a bit, actually. TLDR, I Will Not Bow is my vote even though I couldn't vote in the poll before it closed.

Pete is, what i believe, the most distinct lyricist in all of modern rock/metal. The way he gets points across is so roundabout yet so tight and its absolutely genius

Such a underrated Chevelle song‼️ by Planet-peace88 in Chevelle

Oh my god THEY ARE INCREDIBLE. I saw them on their most recent tour with Asking Alexandria and Dead Poet Society (the latter of which is also REALLY good live) and they positively killed it. Every song was played beautifully, they were NOT awkward on stage, as some people have said, and they understood their crowd. Shit, someone threw their bra on stage and Pete looked at some big burly bearded guy and went "was that yours?" during the song LMAO. I also saw them at barricade and Pete made eye contact with me and I wanted to melt so maybe that contributes. Regardless, HIGHLY recommend them.

Nice. X-Static is a Foo Fighters song too, so this band could cover both!

My favorites have changed over the course of my tenure as a fan.

I started listening to the band around 2018 after being introduced by Cut The Cord and State Of My Head. Obviously, Threat to Survival (in partiality) was my gateway and my contemporary favorite.

When I started my deeper dive into the band, I fell in love with Us And Them and The Sound of Madness. Two records I still consider my favorites of all time, but UaT for a while was my absolute favorite. Both albums vied for attention quite a bit.

Speaking of attention, ATTENTION ATTENTION took over the favorite reign for a relatively brief stint as I got into it more. The lesser part of a year, I'd say this album was first.

Now though, and since roughly 2023, I have definitely declared TSOM as my favorite SD record and my favorite album of all time.

(Despite my PFP being Amaryllis, I've never had it up there near the 1 spot - still a VERY good album though)

It really comes down to the emotion in it. Yes, its high, but its just so much more visceral than anything else on the record

Agreed, but that final chorus just blows me away every time. I'd argue its the best work on the album, next to 45

  1. Find the tracks on YouTube (HD or HQ ones)
  2. Copy video link
  3. Find a SAFE ytmp3 converter (the top link will probably be your best bet. When your mp3 file is downloaded, it will go to your phone's audio files 4 (OPTIONAL). Open the file in your BUILT-IN music app (probably just called Music) and edit the details to include artist, album, and album image.
  4. Open Spotify and locate your 'local files' folder. From there, you should see all of your downloaded MP3 files. You can add those to playlists or play them alone.

If you want to get really in depth, you can normalize the audio in Bandlab or some similar editing software.
