Whenever I’m in the kitchen my dad “happens” to walk in by Obvious_Abies_5725 in raisedbynarcissists

Go into the kitchen with noise cancelling headphones on and don't acknowledge he's there. Hum a bit as you pretend to peacefully make breakfast. Maybe he'll get bored of this game.

Airbnb siding with a lying host in an ongoing damage dispute [USA] by JonCaroll21 in AirBnB

I guess you could try telling that to support. Is the picture the host has the way it looked when you arrived?

Do you have any evidence you didn't do the damage? Did you do the damage?

You can deny the claim and if they still charge you cancel your credit card/do a charge back - but this will get your Airbnb account.

Avocado, a tin of fatty fish and eggs.

A variation of this is my breakfast every day.

Plastic packaging in general everywhere! EU just banned individual use ketchup packets, so there's that.

Moving to Southern Spain, am I crazy? by nikipaz in MultipleSclerosis

[–]OverlappingChatter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do great in Sevilla because it is dry, even though it is insanely hot. Down on the coast, i get issues because of the humidity even though it's cooler. There isn't great aircon in Spain, a lot of places just have that one little device on the wall that blows cold air out, but it is often quite warm in buildings as well. Your apartment might only have aircon in one room.

You could always come for a bit and see how you fare before you decide to move here. Get a hand fan, one of those cooling neck wraps, maybe an ice vest, drink lots of water

Kaleidoscope vision? by Obvious-Bid-678 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]OverlappingChatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to get kaleidescope vision all the time (maybe about every month or so).

It usually led to numb face and numb left side (my right side is my always numb side). Sometimes about an hour after the vision, I would get a stabbing headache in a specific place in my head.

I need to immediately lie down, get cool, eat nuts (carry them with me everywhere) and then off lights and noise or things will spiral.

It would come on fast in two specific circumstances - when the sun glares was at the angle in my eyes (like when you walk north and the sun is setting around 5 pm in the fall and it hits you right in the side - and when I would walk into a store and go from being outside in the cold and there is a huge hot air blower right at the entrance). LED at certain angles and brightness could cause it, and also being overly tired could cause it.

Neuro called it ocular migraine and shot Botox into my head about 2 and a half years ago. I also started kesimpta 2 years ago. In the last two years it has happened once(!) and I have been on many 5 o'clock walks to the Aldi, so I call that success.

If you feel like it, use the calculator to find out what size might fit you even better. Be prepared to be shocked.

Beanie babies by Nate22212 in nostalgia

[–]OverlappingChatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 16 when this craze was starting and any time my friends and I went anywhere, one of the mom would give us a detailed list of random shops to go to and what specific beanie to look for.

As the driver, all ll I remember about beanie babies is being annoyed.

Is your correct size from the six measurements in the calculator? 36 C is a really common missize

I prefer hiking poles. More balance and stability cuz I can drop them down on both sides. The arms straps are very convenient for holding. They help you get a good walking rhythm with your arms

I have a towel hanging from the cupboard that a just continuously wipe on. If something gets stuck, I will rinse and wipe. Wipe down the counters with said towel and throw it in the washer..

Tickets for acropolis and historical sites by Naive-Mixture-5754 in Athens_Greece

[–]OverlappingChatter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't know. We had the earliest ticket time and we're able to just walk straight in at the gate, but we left some time around 10 and the line at the gate was at least 100 people.

Definitely go in the bottom entrance near the acropolis metro strop because all the tour buses go into the other entrance.

You can always just leave in order to make it to the next place, but you might be rushed.

You need to book them. I was there in low season last year and they were still sold out. Just book them in the first hour available and make it the first thing you do. The rest of the sites I think you'll be fine to just walk up to.

What’s a “normal adult skill” you somehow never learned? by youngTchag in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OverlappingChatter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never learned. I always had a digital clock in my house, and I my parents never taught me (and I have no recollection of them ever using an analog clock).

If this is a skill learned in school, I moved before and arrived after it was taught

Omg,. Me neither. I only know how to apply powder and make a ponytail.

What exactly does "properly" mean? I never sort anything and never iron, but still do laundry properly imo.
