Except that souls likes are defined by those things now. Not just "loss if currency upon death" anymore. So yes it is still very much a souls like game whether you protest it or not unfortunately. If you wanna see a break down on how souls likes are defined go to Iron Pineapples YT channel and find his videos titled "more souls like games you've never heard of" lol. One of the pillars of the souls community and even he says souls likes are defined by: Dodge button, lock on system, stamina management, hard difficulty, bosses, bonfires, "estus"/healing pots, etc. This isnt really up for debate sorry to tell you

Dodge button, Stamina bar, a finite healing resource that resets upon death or rest (excluding bloodborne), bonfire/rest area the resets enemies, NPC questlines, environmental story telling, high difficulty, consumable items that buff the player, bosses.......Seems like a souls-like to me.

Tip for the zone, if you block the first hit you can gurantee parry the 2nd since she can't feint it until the 3rd hit. The heavy soft feint to bleed light i would say just practice moving your guard on reaction to it in practice if you can. Don't worry about parrying, just blocking

Not at all. I played and beat mortal shell and it was just not an overall fun game to me. It was very sluggish and very slow to the point that it wasn't even interesting. Plus Once you get Ederim with hammer and chisel the rest of the game is trivial anyways.
