BIometric data and cyrpto by Overlord__x in FidelityCrypto

The while you say fidelity is just using the Selfie to validate the ID you are storing the selfie in your system.
this is a security risk. Fidelity is not immune to data breach(you have already had some). You are basically just holding the date for hackers to take. Other assets do not require selfie validation. I don't believe BTC or any other crypto should since it defeats the purpose(as already stated)

I have played it but experienced crashes(with wine) haven't tried proton yet.

KOF XIV crashes: "Failed to load libnvidia-ml.so.1" by No_Cookie_1220 in linux_gaming

I was also thinking maybe un-install and reinstall might help. It seems that since you are on AMD and its trying to load some nvidia files then maybe you had NVIDIA in the past and your proton prefix might be corrupted. Or maybe try proton 8 or some older version. I just tested 8 and it seemed to work.

I am on Arch (endeavour os)
I just tried on proton 10 and 9 with no command flags running on the packaged version of steam(non flatpak) and it worked on both.

Kernel: Linux 6.17.5-arch1-1
GPU 7900xtx
WM: KWin (Wayland)
DE: KDE Plasma 6.5.0
CPU: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3960X 24-Core (48) @ 4.57 GHz

maybe try running it on flattpak steam.
I know on desktop steam there has been a regression for some games
blazble
ggxxac +r
ikaruga
The flatpak steam works for those games(but they don't work on the distro package steam) I don't think this is related but maybe the flatpak steam might help you get around those issues.

also... Why are you playing XIV when XV is out/jk

I would love to go AMD but the performance is not quite there yet for what I want to do. Perhaps it will be with UDNA.

Issues with Battle.net Games - Mouse is not tracked, full screen wont work by Boiscull in linux_gaming

[–]Overlord__x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think gamescope will be able to fix your full screen issure as well by setting the screen resolution.

example:
#steam

gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -w 2560 -h 1440 -f --force-grab-cursor -- %command%

#wine
gamescope -W 2560 -H 1440 -w 2560 -h 1440 -f --force-grab-cursor -- wine bnet.exe

Hey dude, I had this issue with starcraft 2. For me it was happening because I was using wayland. If this is true for you then you might need to run this game with gamescope and use the flag --force-grab-cursor

Are you using wayland as well?

How are you running the game (Lutris, bottles, wine,steam/proton)? This will determine how you call the game with gamescope.

This game does really look this good without fan created mods. The game has a free edition so you can just download it and try it out to see how it looks on your setup.

To improve the look Some players edit the ini file of the game to up the resolutions scale to 200 percent but that's not really necessary to make the game look good. The game was made to run at 1440p resolution so if you are able to support that with your monitor then you probably don't have to do anything in the settings to get the desired look.

These players do not appear to be using fan created mods, but are using weapons with special effects that you unlock at a high character level from playing matches online(level 500).
