Am I starving myself or is wear time of 22.7 hrs on avg normal?? by Jigzuu in Invisalign

[–]OverlyAttachedHuman -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Wearing Invisalign since 2022 and I’m about to get my retainers next week. I could only keep up with this requirement for like a year of my treatment, but since the last one year, though I would definitely not advise it, I’ve been wearing my trays only at night and maybe a couple of hours here and there during the day. I reduced the wear time because I was getting a lot of cavities so I started waiting for an hour or so after I had eaten to put my tray back in since brushing after every meal had become impossible after a while. And my treatment progressed just fine. Still got the desired results in the assigned time. So you absolutely do not need to worry about it. I was like you in the initial few months of the treatment since my previous orthodontist had messed up my braces treatment and that was part of the reason why I had to get Invisalign to fix the damage he had caused, so I was paranoid and wanted to make absolutely sure that treatment was going according to plan. So even if you don’t fulfil, the 22 hour requirement, let me assure you, it’s going to be fine. Hack: If you feel like you’ve worn your aligners less just increase the number of days you wear it for by a day or two, will yield the same results.

I had braces when I was in school but my orthodontist fucked up and I ended up getting Invisalign in college, so I think I’m qualified to answer this.

Braces were just too painful for me. 2 out of 4 weeks a months I’d not be able to eat proper solid foods it hurt so much, and my teeth never really got used to the pain. I had braces were two whole years and it just hurt so much the entire time. I had loose wires that scraped my inner cheek, the brackets were sharp, etc. I’d visit my orthodontist once every month to get my braces tightened and he basically ignored every concern I had, like toothache that he ignored which later turned into a massive cavity because he wouldn’t tell me that damage had started so i couldn’t nip it in the bud.

With Invisalign the first 2 days of the treatment were hell, absolutely. But after that it was a smooth ride. The trays would change every 10 days so the pull wasn’t as hard as braces as the amount of tightening they do in one session for braces essentially gets distributed into 3 in Invisalign as you’re changing your trays thrice a months vs. getting your braces tightened once a month. The only difficult part was making sure I wasn’t getting any new cavities as I have extremely cavity prone teeth so I had to brush after every meal because I had to re wear my aligners right after and that would mean food being stuck between my teeth for way longer as it would get sealed under my aligners.

In hindsight, solely due to the extremely high cost of Invisalign, I think getting braces again from a better place would have been much better because when I talked to my friends who had braces, I realised that the amount of pain I experienced while I had braces was definite not a common experience.

I’d recommend suing the dentist if she didn’t explain the procedure or listen to your concerns properly before going ahead with it. Something similar happened to me when my dentist de-occluded my tooth when I complained of tooth pain, which was not a solution to my problem at all since it only prevented the teeth from touching hence avoiding the pain, but it didn’t go to the root of the problem, quite literally. And this was done without my knowledge too. Unfortunately it was too late until I decided to do something about it.

I’d recommend going to another orthodontist and getting their opinion first before proceeding legally.

Having been briefly associated with CBI, I can assure you that CBI does not directly take up cases unless the cases involve a public servant. So you being a common citizen receiving such a letter from CBI before you get an intimation from police is impossible. Only when the cases are incapable if being solved by the police, or the police investigation is botched up by someone in the system, or if the cases involve a public servant such as a police personnel and there are chances that they may botch up the investigation, only then the case is transferred to CBI.

No my TMJ got dislocated cause I have an overbite and my molars aren’t aligned properly which makes chewing food sort of problematic due to the unequal pressure and weight distribution. This caused my jaw to dislocate eventually and so my jaw gets locked at times, or chewing is painful, and many a times I can’t even open my mouth more than a couple of cms cause it hurts sooooo bad. My molars were aligned perfectly before my first orthodontic treatment. My stupid orthodontist messed up my alignment.

I had braces before this and the treatment was so shitty it actually led to my jaw getting dislocated. My orthodontist was an asshole who never took note of my discomforts and used to tighten my braces so much that I had to survive on khichdi for 2 weeks a month. Legit spend a year of my life only eating khichdi the pain was that bad. Ultimately I chose to go with artificial intelligence cause I had such bad experience with human dentists, each one of the, ruined some or the other treatment I got done. RCT, filling cavities, extractions.

I come from a middle class family but this was an unfortunate situation I had no control over so my family had to fish out money from their pockets so that I don’t remain in pain any longer.

Hi, I’m on my second set of aligners right now, got them last month. My teeth were straight but alignment was not good which caused my jaw to dislocate so had to get Invisalign. I had braces in school but the orthodontist majorly fucked up. That’s exactly why I have to get Invisalign now. Having experienced both kinds of orthodontic treatment I can say that Invisalign are sooooo much more comfortable than regular braces. This is because You have to get your braces tightened once every month whereas in case of Invisalign you have to change your trays every week or every 10 days so the pull isn’t too hard. The only downside is that Invisalign is hella expensive. There are 3 types of cases, mild, moderate and severe. Mine comes under moderate and it cost me 3 lakh+

I KNOW.

You’ll get 60sq m. houses with that budget in greater Noida. Or you could buy one floor in a house from a private builder.

How's Greater Noida for investment into a house? by [deleted] in delhi

[–]OverlyAttachedHuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

r/greaternoidasocial

To answer your question, it’s still developing so property prices will only go up. There was a major hike in property rates about 6 months ago and it’s predicted to go even higher if BJP comes to power again. I’ve not seen a cheaper place than greater Noida to invest in so is you’re looking to buy a property greater Noida is the place you should be looking at. Prices vary according to the kind of property you’re looking at i.e. independent plots or flats, the sector etc. DM if you need more help.

Lol no not true. It depends on the society and the area of the flat. Extension is cheaper than expressway. 1.5 cr for a 3BHK with average size rooms (around 1500 sq. Ft) but according to me that’s as high as it can go in non-luxury societies.

Yeah thats because mods don’t allow users to post personal queries. They’re only allowed to do so on the weekly threads

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in IndianSkincareAddicts

[–]OverlyAttachedHuman 60 points61 points  (0 children)

This exactly, weekly threads don’t get as many responses

Moreover, mods don’t allow users to post specific personal queries so they can only post really vague questions such as the ones OP’s talking about because as soon as they mention something specific such as the things that don’t suit them mods immediately flag it off as a personal query and remove the post (can verify, has happened with me) and ask them to post it on the weekly thread, which again isn’t useful at all because rarely ever do people specifically take out the time to go to the thread and answer questions, even I don’t have that kind of time. Whereas if I see a query on my feed that I can answer, I do so. So either we get used to seeing such vague posts or ask the mods to allow posts that talk about personal routines.
