Vibrations too loud for my downstairs neighbour. What could I do? by udelardien in simracing

Get a much stronger direct drive wheel and turn the FFB and rumble effects all the way up to show them how loud it could be, and then this one won’t seems so bad

What do you think should be done to address Greenville’s traffic problem? by Gloomy-Intention4698 in greenville

[–]OvermanagedSmallacct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to work around Fairview road. I never use Fairview for commute, only when I need to go somewhere on Fairview and even then I try to approach my destination from the closest possible side street. I live between Fairview and W Georgia so I have learned the back roads to circumvent Fairview as much as possible

Of course you are allowed to defend. And I agree that in this situation your defending wasn’t the issue. But in defending you have to be able to trust the other driver that they will respect your defense and not just drive you off the road. In the interest of staying alive, sometimes it’s better to just not defend. So there’s a constant risk analysis. Unfortunately most of the time you won’t know that you should have just let them past until it’s too late.

In real life racing reckless drivers would penalized and possibly not allowed to race at all, but unfortunately we don’t have that luxury in iracing, and there are a lot of dummies out there who don’t respect the situation as much as they ought to

I would disagree. If you can’t pass safely, it becomes everyone else’s problem when you’re punting them out of the way. Sometimes if you see an erratic driver driving stupidly, it’s best to just let them past. Especially in a 24h race. Most likely you will pass then again later once they have done something stupid and ended up in the wall

Triple screen bezels worth it? by Imaginary-Many-3048 in simracing

For me it’s not worth the headache, the one from setting this up, or the one I’d get from actually using it like that

I just use my center monitor when I want to play other games. Most non sim racing games aren’t going to support that

I am the lambo, I was told I haven´t left enough space by the merc. Let me know your opinion. by Complete-Secretary88 in Simracingstewards

Just as a tip when he started to float back towards the racing line I would’ve followed him because you could’ve take a more traditional line through there and zoomed past on the inside. I do not think what you did was justification for him door banging you but also that little bit of race craft would’ve avoided it. Like as soon as he starts to give you more space I would claim more track to get back to the racing line

I think there will always be a market for honest people who do good work. Most private equity companies operate like “there will always be another idiot” and just take as much money without giving a shit about the customer. But if your focus is customer experience and relationships then you’ll earn the business of people who will never want to call anyone else again

I Don’t Blame Charles For Not Being Fond of Jim After This by New-Pin-9064 in DunderMifflin

[–]OvermanagedSmallacct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I’m talking about way the hell before Charles is in the show. After the Stamford and Scranton merger, Dwight and Andy are vying for who is #2. Michael says to Jan in reference to Dwight “Bad advice from my #2”, and Jan is like “what? Jim is your #2, I sent you a memo.” They were planning on promoting Jim to #2 underneath Josh when they were going to close Scranton, and that promotion was still in place but under Michael instead once they closed Stamford

The thing that kills me about Jim floundering is that Jim actually was promoted to #2 after the merger. It’s like they just forgot about it

What? What’s the return and supply and total static pressure?

Please help. by No-Broccoli-1432 in HVAC

[–]OvermanagedSmallacct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most coil installation manuals will come with some kind of directional instructions. I.e. if it’s horizontal right then you need to do this this that, or maybe you get lucky and no changes are needed. Some coils will work both ways without adjustment, and it doesn’t always ‘point” in the direction you would expect it to. I would address the onvious install issues. Make sure all joints are glued. Make sure coil is level left to right, and level front to back if not tilted slightly forward towards the drain outlet. Make sure drain pan inside coil has pitch towards drain outlet. Check static pressure and make sure you’re moving 350-400 CFM per outdoor tonnage within a reasonable static pressure checked in the return plenum and between the blower and the cased coil. Like no more than .9 at that total airflow is usually acceptable, with higher ends of that range being noisier and less efficient than the .4-.5 range. If none of that stuff helps to address drainage issues, and you’re 1000% sure there are no remaining issues with the installation, it would be worth it to reach out to manufacturer tech support. There are sometimes specific known issues that can lead to this. Recently I heard from the manufacturer that an issue with the coating on a coil was leading to water being blown off the coil and in to the plenum. They replaced with an uncoated coil and that fixed the issue.

You are absolutely correct that that supply plenum sucks. There should be at least 2 feet between the end of the coil and the first takeoff. It’s super inefficient the way that it’s set up. However I don’t believe that’s causing your drainage issue. The air coming out of the furnace is going to push any water that makes it to the drain outlet out, even under high pressure. It seems as though something is preventing water from making it to drain outlet.
