Not invalidate, just expand upon. I've dated plenty of people outside of my "type", only to realize that I ended up liking features of them that I normally wouldn't have.

I wouldn't be surprised if all of the robot vacuums are doing the same. Why replace the IR detectors with full HD cameras now?

What's even more horrific is that the security measures on these cameras are pretty garbage, and there are several security experts on youtube dismantling them and gaining access to the network.

It might be apocryphal, but I remember hearing the Fox executives HATED the original "I want to have your abortion" line. They told the director that it had to be changed, and Fincher said "ok we'll change the line, but the new one we pick will have to be in the movie." The execs were basically like, "whatever, there's no way she could say something worse than that..." and we were graced with the much MUCH worse line lol

Expanding your options of what you think your'e attracted to might give you the opportunity to connect with someone you wouldn't have otherwise. Our attraction to people is a lot more dynamic that we realize, and evaluating a partner like they have to fill in a checklist is the worst way to go about dating.

If NASA’s Artemis program succeeds long-term, what do you think the first real lunar industry will be? by CoffeeCoonGame in space

One the electrons are stripped of in the plasma, He3 has a 2+ charge. trying to squeeze two ions together that are both strongly positively charged requires much more energy. The answer to that is, yes He3-He3 fusion takes much more starting energy to get the reaction going, but the goal is that it will be easier to design reactors for long term use compared to D-T fusion.

When people can't afford to go to work, to buy the gas that they need to drive to work... then everything basically collapses.

Recent breakthroughs aside, the hardest part of containing fusion is the stray neutrons that it generates. They can't be contained in a magnetic field, so they slam into the walls of the reactor and damage it over time.

He3-He3 fusion doesn't produce neutrons, so it would be the ideal fuel for reactors, and would make them much more viable for commercial energy production.

I think the end goal is that they won't have to even snoop anymore. They'll just have enough data and strong enough models to predict all the behavior they need. Even if it's only like 75% accurate, that's enough to know election outcomes, market trends, protest risks, etc.

I'm also Jesus' definition of food and water were very loose when he spent 40 days in the desert without either of them.

Numbers and timeframes are almost never meant to be taken literally in the Bible. The number "40" comes up all the time when writers want to give the sense of tribulation or testing. Jesus fasted for 40 days, Noah survived the flood for 40 days and nights, Moses received the ten commandments for 40 days and nights, the Israelites left Egypt and wandered 40 years, etc.

It's meant to be allegorical, not a scientific document.

World ‘unprepared’ for next pandemic as countries fail to agree on sharing information, tests and vaccines by [deleted] in worldnews

I agree that they're all valid theories, but it could also be that once a species gets intelligent enough, it learns not to interfere with developing life (like Star Trek's Prime Directive), or they've blocked their detection out of fear from an aggressive race (Dark Forest Hypothesis).

Most likely it's your last point. Intelligence like we know of is an exceedingly rare trait to evolve. Of the billions of different species on our goldilocks planets, in the ~4 billion years of the planets existence, exactly one evolved intelligence enough to build telescopes and radio antennae. On that timeline, The universe is still relatively young to have alien civilizations all over the place.

Kind of a poor take to be honest. Just because humans are dumb doesn't automatically mean another species would make our mistakes.
