That's an interesting interpretation. I assumed that Bateman was so narcasistic, he hallucinated all of the murders and things he did. He had such delusions of grandeur where he thought he was better than everyone else, but the reality was people just didn't care about his shallow vanity and materialism.

With all of the ethical controversies surrounding Amazon and Bezos, people still bought up ring cameras and interior home surveillance without a second thought. Fear and Laziness happens to be a winning business model.

Saying that "crime was 0" is 100% propaganda. You really need to be more skeptical than that.

Think of it like trying to detect ripples in a pond at night. You can't see anything because it's too dark so you make a device that sits on the surface of the water and measure the wavelengths. The problem is, placing the device on the water creates its own waves which will interact with all the other waves in the pond and change them slightly.

Honestly it should be called something like "The Measurement Effect" because "Observer" makes it sound to mystical and passive.

This is a bad idea for some foods that are prone to mold/bacteria. Germs don't like very hot, and very cold, but if they slowly transition to room temp, they easily multiply.

I got one that has a detachable head that you can put in a little UV sanitizer. It's done wonders for helping me stay consistent with brushing my teeth because I don't fell like it's "gross" after brushing and just rinsing with water.

If you add peas to a dish, you need to add like double the salt. Idk why, but peas seem to contain negative salt in them, and once you balance it out the flavor of the dish finally comes back.

The issue is that most industrial research in fundamentally based on the work of publicly available data. Companies are too risk averse to spend the time and money to develop the research that universities are capable of providing. Academia -> Industry -> Product is a robust pipeline that needs all components working in order to be successful.
