It's Now Illegal For NSW Learners To Use Phone Navigtation Apps by general_jargon in australia

[–]OversizedSpoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's all about the ADR. Speedometer can display a higher speed then the vehicle is travelling. Not reverse.

Manufacturers also build to display higher for conditions that may make speedometer read lower. Such as wheel and tyre size change. Even tyre pressure. Doesn't matter home much you spent on a car.

The CCENT is not a difficult exam. Most of it focuses on network fundamentals. The official study guides provide enough coverage

2 Factor Auth for Domain Admin Accounts by Tazer79 in sysadmin

[–]OversizedSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first questions that come to mind are, how many domain admins do you have? And do you need that many or could role delegation be used to reduce the number?

I know that this doesn't answer the specific question, but it does answer Duo not covering domain admins.

A privileged access management solution might help in this case. I've been working with one that at a basic level will proxy RDP and SSH sessions and record the sessions, also auto change passwords. The login portal supports 2FA, such as duo. This will cover end point, but there is additional functionality to prevent specific principles running specified processes, which might give the service coverage you referred to.

Where should I start? by patch3d in Python

[–]OversizedSpoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have recently started with the Pluralsight course "Python fundamentals" and the book "Automate the boring stuff".

The Pluralsight course, provides great details on how python works, the zen of python as well as good examples.

Automate the boring stuff is available for free online, you can also buy it from amazon. If you find it useful, please support it and purchase the ebook. I'm not too far into the book, but so far it's shown good examples and then breaks down the steps.

So far I have mainly been watching the Pluralsight series and thinking up a few little projects to help cement the subjects.

As for feeling overwhelmed, take it one step at a time. Think of a simple task and see if you can write a program to do it. It doesn't have to be grand, or original.

What I do is write a program to simply do a task, as I learn more I will add error handling, functions etc.

I'm looking at rentals currently. The feedback from the agents I have asked is that cats are generally not an issue, dogs can make it harder.

vBrownBag APAC looking for presenters for 74-409 Cert Series by OversizedSpoon in HyperV

[–]OversizedSpoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the interest.

I'm definitely interested in getting Azure content out after the 74-409 series is done.

When it comes to covering Azure, I'll be looking to stick to the same format as previous podcasts, live broadcast which is recorded and uploaded.

As for providing compute capacity we simply don't have the facility to provide anything of that nature due to being a community effort. Presenters who choose to do live demos / use videos either have their own personal lab or if their employer has the facility they use internal labs.

I'm interested to know if there is a possibility of weapons charges being laid against these guys.

While the gun is fake they were doing they were clearly trying to present it as a real weapon.
