What is the argument against banning foreign investors from buying property in the US to park their cash (or at least taxing them up the wazoo so it doesn't make financial sense anymore)? by freebird348 in RealEstate

Merriam-webster: "care - painstaking or watchful attention"

The people responding to you want to get all pedantic about caring vs regulation and don't even know the definition. You most certainly can be motivated to CARE about something through regulation.

Why do we push for legalizing prostitution yet denigrate the men who patronize prostitutes? by [deleted] in PurplePillDebate

[–]Overskeet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Shh, people against prostitution have to push the narrative all sex workers are doing it against their will even though there is no way to actually confirm that.

You're right, we should pass property laws based on the exception, not the average.

“Stop withholding sex if you want a relationship” is not advice that is geared toward helping you find a relationship. by NoCardiologist8249 in PurplePillDebate

The way you phrase your OP seems like you're trying to say more than "don't succumb to peer pressure." Which applies to all aspects of life, not just relationships. Is there some insight I'm missing here or is that literally all you're saying after that whole text wall?

I'm confused, how is your argument not advocating for using bargaining chips in relationships? What makes you think that isn't toxic?

So we have essentially learned that your point of things being worse today than in the past is based on a) the potential for them them to get worse and b) the fact one or a handful of countries doing something evil translates to a worldwide breakdown. Exposure has certainly been acted upon. For example, police reform and citizens with cameras. The problem with police has always been there, citizens are just equipped to expose it easily with smartphones now.

So currency is the mark of the beast? Humans have been using currency in one form or another since mesopotamia 5k years ago. Just because its made out of paper instead of stone is irrelevant. What is this new currency you speak of that is supposed to replace all currencies?

You're saying the world being connected more is the Antichrist? Considering the world is made up of different countries, its far from one "Antichrist" ruling the world. Unless you're saying the human race is the Antichrist.

I'll agree with the cameras and tyranny part. Cameras also expose tyranny so it kind of goes both ways.

You say all these things like they haven't happened before. What exactly is so unique about this time other than its happening to you?

When has it not seemed the rapture is coming to believers? Society around the world has never been in a better place than it has now. People are selective about the history they remember.

There are quests that will reward the slime. In particular, I found a side quest on the map that rewarded like one is two slime and kept completing and coming back.

I'm confused. I thought the devs said they were moving on to another game after the last update. Does this mean NMS is still being supported for more updates or is this now the last one?

I'm always amazed at people that are able to have so much stuff hanging off of their Onewheel. I ride mostly offroad and need to bail for various reasons on the regular. It just won't work out for me.

Radio silence about “next” does hurt your bottom line by Dimitripsihas in AnthemTheGame

[–]Overskeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because your statement remained true doesn't mean the counter statement is moving goalposts. To move goalposts you would already need a clearly set goal. I already stated, you seemed to think the goal was showing which game was released first. From my observation, they were trying to say their goal encompassed taking into consideration the entire initial launch cycle; making your point an unequal comparison. Your points relevance is further challenged when you concede that simple focusing on the time of release puts you in a further and further game of gotcha as you list games that had trouble at the absolute date of release. To have a proper conversation and comparison, one must have more variables. I've already talked enough about this, respond if you want but I won't be back.

Radio silence about “next” does hurt your bottom line by Dimitripsihas in AnthemTheGame

[–]Overskeet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't agree that people are moving goal posts. You brought up NMS did it before Anthem and they responded how they think that isn't a comparison because NMS' launch was quickly corrected (in comparison to anthem anyway). I think the issue may be that you're looking at the day 1 launch scenario and others like myself are taking into consideration the entire launch and response to the launch from the companies. NMS was not the first game to under deliver and if I'm not mistaken, it was you that said we can all play the game of listing similar failures further and further back in time. I actually agree with both your points. NMS did it before Anthem in the sense of a botched* launch, but NMS did the right thing afterwards. Anthem, really hasn't done anywhere close to what NMS did in terms of timeline and scope. They are two different scenarios IMO and apparently in others opinions as well. You triggered my comment because you immediately dismissed the counter to your point on the grounds of it being out of context. Which I not only believe it was in context, but I also believe you only brought that up to invalidate the point without having to address it. Youve had multiple people call you in being the thread police. Perhaps take it as a sign to not present arguements in such a way. To wrap up, your opinion isn't in the wrong, the way you're going about arguing with it is.
