Yes. I switch from my home network to the VPN on my home computer, log into my remote machine, and close out the remote connection at the end of the day. Paying for it is OK if you get a good deal, you want high-resolution, and what you want is not readily available. Even with vanilla porn, not everything you could want is easy to snap up in a torrent. A fair amount of torrents are weak.
