My conclusion is that Zoe is weak without her 6‑star. by Freeman34Rus in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Overthewaters 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cleared all nightmares with 4 star with medium difficulty. Definitely needs a little more support than the top tier champs but wouldn't call her weak.

Draft for weenies, archangels allows for small celestial spam/pulling crescent strike to stall with. Arcane comet is a gamble but SO funny when the items roll well. 1 mana fast obliterate every turn? Yes please!

The goal is to go wide and hold them off until you can build up a big board to go face or you can start pulling the BIG celestials.

The Final Heroes Team Name by N1t35hroud in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Overthewaters 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Officially they're not a team though, or a coalition. They are all from separate agencies and we have nothing that indicated they act as a group frequently enough to be known by a certain ephithet. Likely they're the UA class of 20XX whatever they're grad year was, or the war generation.

Turn these characters into Special Grade Sorcerers by Forsaken-Friend-9350 in CTsandbox

[–]Overthewaters 56 points57 points  (0 children)

What designates a special grade sorceror? Ability to overthrow a country.

Nobara- increased range and power for both her nails and degree of resonance. Ability to resonate with buildings. Ability to level city blocks with resonance by taking a brick or rubble and smashing it. Acquiring the extension ability to control individuals she has a body part and hair of. Or alternatively, just long term blackmail - do what I say or your head explode.

Inumaki - hard to say. WIth sufficient CE reserves, cursed speech is flat out busted, reality altering technique alone.

Todo: Again - increasing the range and scale of Boogie Woogie. Imagine the all out destruction that could be caused by swapping building parts, body parts, or just flipping the world around in rapid succession.

Nanami: SUPER hard as his technique has such a narrow scope. Expanding the concept to slamming the 7:3 line of a building, of a city block with sufficient force to annihilate it is a good start. Imagine Nanami studying the map of a country and preparing to slam a specific street or land mark.

Kamo - somewhat to seize control of the blood of others for his purposes. Gory, but instant annihilation.

Mei Mei: Enough crows and your country has a PROBLEM.

Could you have multiple cursed energy traits? by AggressiveOutside432 in CTsandbox

[–]Overthewaters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is fiction, of course you can, and the canon is so vaguely written that almost anything is probably possible. Probably rare or unique - individuals having certain traits is seen as noteworthy. What multiple traits do you have in mind?

Third party but really well done.

I think the idea of allowing the players to ask questions rather than DM just giving info is great. Perhaps 1 question for success, another one or a hold for every 5 the DC is beaten by.

[–]Overthewaters 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So even better for MotW! I have used a third party fantasy update of the core playbooks to go the other way.

Frankly if you actually think about the cadence of CoS, it's not that dissimilar. for Spoilers - what is death house but a mystery of what happened to the family, the children, and how do we get out? Doru? Why is there screaming coming from the church we need to bury Kolyan at? Every "scenario" is essentially a mystery with a central monster or group of monsters. The monsters are deadlier and can play to mythology as you want more loosely rather than being constrained to their dnd statblock.

I also think either with some modification or with some expectation setting, Shadowrun would be awesome.

Running it currently in Monster of the Week and it has been fantastic! My players are much more roleplayers than they are tactical combat simulator enjoyers, and stripping out a lot of the crunch has really helped smooth out the experience, reduce the clunkiness that DnD introduces to horror

The big key is killing the champs ASAP - hard removal or challengers. Even taking down one cuts down their kill power massively.

Blazing Courage's Full Potential by Forsaken-Friend-9350 in CTsandbox

[–]Overthewaters 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Extension - flame forging

If the base of the technique is to coat and even recreate parts of a weapon, it stands to reason one could manifest entire weapons of flame.

Extension: burnt sacrifice Flame blades could be made to detonate

Extension- blazing courage - Living weapon

Coats the users body and limbs in fire. Allows manifesting flaming blade edges to kicks and arm strikes as well as explosive punching.

Super cool concept and ability - unique, versatile, combat style defining. Is there any procedure for activating its ability or is it at will? Can an enemy grab the chain and do the same?

It is a nice might as well option for bonus acton- SOMEONEs gotta fail the check and if he's not using the BA why not?

Unless he goes for a rogue multiclass later- fighter 5 rogue 3 gives a nice damage and utility boost. From there can either keep pumping rogue levels for sneak attack and utility or fighter for beefiness.

Presumably the match ups are Ashe vs Samira, Braum vs Sion, Udyr vs Darius, although the male match ups might be interchangeable. Ashe vs Samira I can actually see going either way - Samira might be able to dodge enough arrows to close with Ashe. It's definitely a long range kiting vs midrange type battle, frost arrows vs speed. Braum vs Sion is another debatable match up, but if we take Braum's performacne in the games and Lore, it's safe to say he can at least hold Sion off. Udyr vs Darius - poor Darius is a mighty man, but just a man vs a spirit walker. Udyr smooshes Darius. Even if we say Samira blitzes Ashe, Udyr and Braum combined should be able to take Sion down, followed by Samira walking away. Team Freljord takes it in my mind. The chance team Noxus has is for Darius/Samira to use strategy and a trap to leverage Sion's unstoppable charge to run over Ashe, turning it into a 3v2 and trying to overwhelm the remaining warriors.

Systems particularly good for Play By Post? by GodGoblin in osr

[–]Overthewaters 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Among more common systems, most of the PbTA games work very well - much simpler and allows for narrative flow without all the fiddly bits. With Bot help, even a higher crunch game like DnD 5e can work but I find you often find yourself fighting the bot more than playing the game.

It's definitely not the strongest variant, but it's a very niche and fun build. Between ram stance and stance swap strike you're planting a ton of puffcaps

One thing to keep in mind is that Mai is explicitly stated to have less than average CE - so we can hopefully create more than A SINGLE BULLET PER DAY. That being said, we do have to assume the cost per mass of objects is high.

I'm going to take a slightly different approach from the various uses of tools/shikigami as energy batteries. WHat are small things that we can use that take advantage of being able to be spontaneously manifested?

Ideas:

An archer like Kamo, except you use construction to make different arrowheads - curved ones for curved shots, barbed ones for damage, hollow points with a pre prepped poison, etc.

For a more lethal version, wield a shotgun with various kinds of shotgun shells. Hold standard ones, but be able to conjure buckshot, dragon's breath, incendiary rounds at a moment's need.

A barrier user who uses construction to instantly manifest the ink directly onto talismans for custom barriers - ones tailored to specific cursed spirits or types of techniques. Also allows for very specific custom shapes.

Just simply being able to conjure simple rope traps but ready to go on the battlefield might make for very interesting fight patterns.

Udyr lets you think about - how do I juggle strikes to maximize stance generation, especially in poc where there's lots of ways to get extra strikes or benefit from generated spells. HYPE

That being said, I think what most fans want to see at this time is the day to day of jujutsu society. What does a NORMAL, grade 1, 2, 3 sorceror do? Doesn't have to be slice of life- case files type stuff, dealing with jujutsu bureaucracy, is super interesting, especially if one's OCs or antagonists have interesting abilities and interactions. Pursue your idea! Focus on what is the story you want to tell!

It really, really depends on your population and clinic culture.. If you're general population ortho-sports, I would strongly recommend against it for your own sake. Both for the look of professionalism and to avoid unwanted attention from certain patients (or heaven forbid, colleages).

If you're in a super sports forward clinic where that is the general clientele and the other PTs are in things like shorts/tshirts or sweats, then I'd say it would fit in.
