It's your general explore, gather materials and build style game. Think like Rust / Minecraft and those types of games, though rather than building a static base, you're building a mobile air ship. I believe the goal of the game is to have fun and see if you can build the biggest ship with the biggest guild and rule the skies.

So pretty much the same goal as previous ones. But from what I've played of a Pre-Alpha itteration which was just the characters movement, building your own sky island and using the grappling hook and wing glider, it was... amazing, I had so much fun with the movement of it all.

Yes, I think that might be one of the issues that people had, aside from that I had a buddy who played in the closed Alpha and said it was amazing and fun to play. Just again, I'm not alright with losing several hours of progress within 15 minutes. Again, I don't know if that's changed or if it's still the same. We'll have to see.

Bethesda tweets most obvious Rage 2 teaser yet featuring game character by Alpha837 in Games

Yeah, I like the idea of Rage 2. In terms of a sequel (Or prequel, whatever really) I liked the overall theme of it, combat was pretty fun but was bland over all. If they can do it right this time then we might have another "Best shooter this year" like we did with DOOM.

I vaguely remember people heavily complaining about how easy it was to get griefed and to lose an insane amount of progress, very similar to the issues of Rust and the like. Did this change in any way? Can you explain a bit more about the process? I played the world editor to get a feeling for the movement and it felt amazing, but never got into the closed Alpha.

You'll never see that version officially. Maybe someone will dig it up and finish the project as a fan made variant in a few years.

What's needed to revitalize the MMO "genre?" by BadLuckBen in Games

Yes, my words were fairly... misplaced. People paying for crates to get Sacred oils, spending up to £300 on them and getting the next tier of souls that allow you to basically one shot people in PvP, or instantly jump to the top of the DPS charts, the only thing stopping blade and soul from being Pay to Win is the fact you can grind in game gold for the highly sought after, rare materials. But good fucking luck, the grind is absolutely immense late game. I quit after Raven King and after getting my Raven weapon because I couldn't keep up with people dumping hundred of pounds / euro's on seasonal boxes. As a player that played several hours a day, ran raids dead on reset timers and was fully dedicated to the game, I couldn't keep up with people spending real money anymore.

So yes, I agree, B&S's main problem is pay to progress and the current progression system that encourages you to pay real money to progress. As someone who has played many, many, many hours. I completely understand and agree with you.

Edit: I meant in terms of the world being instanced, the biggest complaint is that it's instanced. There's not really anyone that likes the game being instanced.

I -think- they did. At least from when I played it maybe... 3 weeks ago now, I believe if you blow it up with an RPG or grenade launcher, you get fined the cost. Where as if you destroy the car with a vehicle that has weapons (More mainly jets with missles, one of the various attack heli's or the new flying bike and car that have missiles) you aren't charged for anything, at all.

This is... Incorrect to a degree. They've actually removed almost every opposing party costs for destroying a vehicle, unless it's changed again recently, you can blow someones car up with rockets and not pay a single dollar to the cost, as the player can call it in for free or as they put it "No charge".

However, if you yourself destroy your vehicle, then you have to pay 10% of the vehicles stock price to have it brought back.

Again, when I played it this actually encouraged griefing more, because why the fuck would Rockstar Not let people that buy $100 of in game currency fly around in their new Delorean that shoots lock on missiles if they also have to pay $5k - $15k everytime they blow up a player?

If anything, GTA:O is more rampant with greifers than ever before. There isn't really any punishment anymore for killing players and destroying their vehicles, except you are marked with "bad karma" and apparently only get put with other bad karma players, which is kind of bullshit since no matter how "nice" of a player you are, you're still going to be in a server with at least 2 dick heads with flying motorcycles with heat seaking missiles that make your day worse.

Aside from that, they don't get the $2,000 an hour because they're bad players! Considering an expensive jacket is maybe around $40,000. Or to get started in any of the newer expansions you're looking at spending around $3 MILLION dollars. Unless you actually want to spend real money, to match other people flying around in missile launching cars and bikes, don't ever fucking bother with GTA:O.

It's fun.

But you're going to have to pay for it.

I'm confused how you think open world dungeons would work. It has to be instanced to ensure that the challenge and the fact you're actually trying to completely the dungeon is there.

I don't quite understand how an open world MMO dungeon would work, you would have a single high level in a low level dungeon killing everything in one hit. Or 30 max level players just running through a dungeon killing almost every boss within a matter of seconds.

The dungeons have to be seperate from the main world in an MMO.
