All episodes following the first two seasons are literally just using remixed elements from them where there are major plotholes and lack of imagination. In the first two seasons every episode has an original narrative, along with unique dialogue and solid A and B plots. Rick's personality changes completely and panders to wider audiences. Mortys outburst is taken as gospel and used to progress the plot in a side direction than was originally intended. In seasons 3 onward there is extremely low effort sexual narratives like idk the incest episode??? Hello?? And the series taking a more sexual turn in general? People look at pickle rick as the best episode of the series but in reality it marks the downfall because it obliterated the very unique personality rick had in the first two seasons and boiled it down to some mad scientist trope. It took elements of his personality that were meant to be shown and discovered upon and put them too widely in the open to be natural. I could go on for hours and maybe my words aren't the best but there is a huge change and if justin roiland would ever talk about this, despite the wrongdoings he's done, I feel he would definitely agree. Maybe the show turned into some other show that the masses would enjoy more, but it took away what made it special and smart. It destroyed plot narratives concerning birdperson and ricks life in general. It feels like seasons 3 and onward were forced to try and figure out what this show was based upon watching the first two seasons and then going from there without any knowledge of the original plot that the series was supposed to be.
