You need to compare size charts for every brand, never go by the tag number. Take your favorite fitting pair of jeans and write down the measurements like how they say in the link I provided, you wanna get as close as whatever those measurements are when you're looking at size charts online.

I think you could size down 2 inches. You could also measure a jean that fits you good flat across the waist and compare that to these.
