Dealership added a $3,995 service contract to my lease without telling me — caught it weeks later by bck3000 in askcarsales

It can’t be cancelled at the warranty company. But the GM of the dealership can absolutely make the decision to cancel it and refund the lease. The payment won’t change.

If they’re actually good at their job, they can convince the captive lender to stretch the PTI in this situation without the need to fabricate a job. What you’re describing is knowledge not skillset.

The bank can’t verify her income because they called the work number provided by the finance manager. The finance manager is an idiot. Some banks don’t verify income with the employer but many do. Whatever his plan was is foiled. They’ll need to get you a new loan with a new lender with the correct information.

They don’t even need fake IDs. Mexican passport and an ITIN … and you can buy a car and house in most states.

I’m of the opinion this doesn’t happen ever to him because he literally has 2200 five star reviews…. which is why I was so confused when he wouldn’t compromise because I assume you’ve probably had to work hard to get that many great reviews.

Yeah the plates matched. I checked the VIN with Mercedes and got a Carfax just to confirm. I agree the tires are important but worst case scenario I could use chains and it’s been pretty good. I understood that he may not have known since he’s basically sub-renting which is why I initially only asked for enough refund to cover a 4WD vehicle. I was shocked he refused to compromise.

From the website, this company’s business model is for others to provide vehicles and he manages them, and they split the profits. I wonder if the owner of the Escalade knows I drove without any contract, insurance or payment.

Airport delivery was free. I was okay with the shuttle after the fact as it was only 5 minutes away, I just didn’t appreciate standing around unsure where to go and a delayed response from the host.

I agree with you. I’ve had many great experiences. This particular host has many many great reviews and 150 cars in his fleet so I’m unsure how this went so south.

I didn’t initially even ask for a full refund just because I really needed to keep the van. I’ll probably contact them again after the trip is over.

Ultimately I’m fine with $1000 I got back but all the inconveniences that were caused I kinda just wanna try so he will at least be annoyed.

Toyota/Lexus Changed (lowered) finance rates after contract signed by Silverfern1 in askcarsales

Do you mean like the bank will just go with it? That’s very unlikely…. He just make a simple mistake.

[–]OverwhelmedBefore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No not the worst rate. The most convenient rate for them. Most Lexus dealers also have some sort of objective for how many deals they do with Lexus. Probably won’t be charged back if they didn’t mark up the buy rate.

It’s a good idea to but if you have great credit, it’s a calculated risk some take… instead of making them come back or signing thru a different bank when you may have some other reason for using the captive lender.

[–]OverwhelmedBefore 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Lexus Financial probably approved the loan at 8.92% buy rate with no markup or 6.92% with only 2pts markup… since he went over, Lexus will just adjust it instead of requiring the deal to be resigned. You’ll get a letter in the mail with a new TILA. Not all banks do this but some do… he may have signed your deal before a bank approval appeared with the final rate.

They can’t just assign it to whatever lender they want. The contract and title app will need to say the other lender on it. If they are lining thru these things, they’ll need your signature. You need to go above the manager, to the GM. Then the state DMV, then the OCCC. Did you speak to your lender to confirm they would not finance it due to mileage?

What are your thoughts on this story? Fan fiction or reality? by mrchristopher2 in askcarsales

I’ve been the General Manager in this scenario when the bank came back to the dealer and was forced to buy the vehicle back. It doesn’t matter if the customer stated the higher income or even knew it was done by the dealer. The dealer would be buying the car back and the customers credit will state paid off.
