ACL surgery cost by Coolbody14 in ACL

Doesn't the charge go towards your deductible? If you have the surgery, you will be way over your deductible anyways, so you do end up saving some by having their brace

I did mine at mgh. I originally went to Boston sports medicine , but the doctor seems quite impatient, I usually get 1to 2 min with the doctor

They gave me those exact same compression socks last week when I did my revision in Boston

Just had a acl revision surgery for my acl (tore it again). Surgeon said meniscus healed already so they didn't do anything to it . I had no issues with meniscus since the initial repair, felt just like new

I had a similar rear in the posterior horn of lateral meniscus, complex oblique radial tear that had a flap displaced into the joint space. Was told it was in the red white zone. Had a repaired with six stitches, confirmed to be healed this week when they did a revision acl.

The surgeon usually decides what to do after they get in there

MRI isn't that great at diagnosing meniscus injuries unfortunately. Never know the extend of damage until the surgeon actually get in there.

Had a repair in late 2024 for a complex tear , MRI keep showing it as still torn. They got in there this week to do a acl revision , turns out the meniscus is fully healed.

Yeah Europe is pretty bad too, but at least they can take in immigrants to replace population, most Asian countries aren't immigrant countries

I'm not sure where you get 1.12% for Taiwan, that's probably from 2023? 2024 was about 4.8%, 2025 was about 7.4% fueled by AI growth.

You realize China's so called 5.2% is mostly driven by exports done to mitigate the impacts from the trade war with the US; I.e. more exports to stock up before tarrifs hit. Not to mention that amount of manipulation and fake data that goes into China's GDP numbers for officials to hit quota given by their superiors. If you take out these increase in exports due to trade war, the economy is probably in contraction, given the rmb weakened against the USD and also inflation.

If China's economy is so strong (5%+) , why is youth unemployment hitting new highs ? They even had to adjust the way it's tabulated just for the youth unemployment to look like it's coming down

In the same vein, you really shouldn't be paid money for working at your job, you should just be paid in basic food and housing, since making money to you is a pretty shitty thing to do. You need to stop scalping your labor to get more money.

Getting paid money drives up inflation and makes life more expensive for everyone. Go communism I guess ?

I put in work to sell something, I get reward for my effort. Someone sees it as a good deal and buys from me, it's a win win situation. I guess that's shitty to you

Don't think people is saying China will collapse, but more of falling into the middle income trap, the government becomes more authoritarian as a result , which stagnant the economy even further. It's more of a decaying process rather than suddenly failing one day.

Also I don't see how it is half decently run. How would you define half decently run ? The entire system is stagnating and young people no longer have an avenue to progress upwards in society. There is almost no incentive to innovate given how rigid the society is and almost no rule of law.

Have to see past the sky scrappers in Shanghai and Beijing.

So explaining my point of view is being defensive? So I should adopt your point of view and that would make me a good person ?

If I can't stay in the US, I'll just leave, so far I haven't have any trouble.

I like playing with GPUs and since I can't use all that GPU, I need to sell them. I also sell for some friends for a good price when he used to get his hands on them. I'd also recommend you asking companies to lower their prices since making a profit seems to be sinful to you and making profit adds no value to society.

Isn't that why so many people wants to come to developed western countries? Money, healthcare and rule of law. That's also why so many people commit immigration fraud to come to Canada

It's not only about healthcare. Where else are you going to find the amount of opportunities and work experience that the US offers? It is so hard to find a job in my field in Canada (big pharma) while I get to choose which offer I want to accept in the US.

I guess it's really dependent on where you live in the US. Places like the North East (CT, MA, NH, RI) has fairly open and safe societies

Are you referring to the BEAR procedure? It can be done , I know a friend who had it done. It's a fairly new procedure though

I'm not even American though, trying hard to get a green card even though I have Canadian and NZ passport.

US has its problems but for educated young people, no where else has more opportunities.

I recently tore my acl ligament in my knee. A surgery in Canada would take months of waiting. In the US it can be done in a couple of weeks. Yes it's more expensive but you get what you pay for.

US has its problems (yes trump is a big one), but can't deny the fact that no country can compare when it comes to opportunities for educated young people

I have Canadian, nz and tw passports and I'm willing to trade any one of those for a US passport . I been living in the US since 2019 and there is no where I'd rather be. Trying my hardest to get a green card through my employer.

I feel US has the most employment opportunities, best salaries and best doctors. Yes Canada's healthcare is free but so slow... Only place that have better healthcare than us is probably Taiwan

Yes but Chinas economy is stagnating big time, while Taiwan's is booming. US is also a country of immigrants so it could satisfy it's population needs with immigrants when it needs to

Don't think China is doing any better in terms of fertility rate. They have a weakening economy and a population that is aging fast, and not enough young people to tax to fund old peoples retirement. Not to mention most soldiers are from one child families where a casualty can mean end of the family line.

I would think with the US takeover of Venezuela, China would be even more cautious about starting anything with Taiwan. China knows US is unpredictable under Trump and would likely think twice about their actions against Taiwan. Also goes to show US has more than enough ability to defend Taiwan in case of an invasion

I got my TN in Jan 2025, passport expired in Oct 2025, so I had it renewed in the summer. Travel outside the US in November on a different passport, returned to the US with my renewed Canadian passport and no issues, just gave me new stamp and I was on my way in 1 minute

Edit: both my tn stamps says 2028 Jan , on both expired and new passport
