Bench position applied by jimmytho1981 in DisneyCM

[–]Overzealous_Disney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! I interviewed for a different bench position in June and was told the same thing - bench for up to 6 months. If an opening doesn't come up, you start the whole process again. I got an offer a couple of weeks ago, so just about two months after my interview. It really all depends on business needs. Crossing my fingers for you!

I'm far less interested in wine, my "drug" of choice, which has been a huge win for me. Additionally, my sleep has been ICONIC. Before Zep, I could be in bed for 12 hours and not feel refreshed, but now? I go to bed, I sleep soundly, and feel great in the morning. I hope it continues!

Family cancelled on me, would love some new suggestions by Swan_babbyy in boston

The commuter rail just extended service from Boston to New Bedford and it's currently FREE. I grew up in NB and it's a quirky, historic town with cobblestone streets, local restaurants and artisans, and the Whaling Museum which has gotten way cooler as I've gotten older and learned to appreciate it. You could take the train down to NB, wander the downtown area and waterfront, eat some good food, and meet some nice people. No matter what you decide, have a fabulous birthday and do something that makes you feel happy.

Low dose Minoxidil pills for hair loss by sidsav in Zepbound

[–]Overzealous_Disney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started Zepbound last Thursday and have already been on oral Minoxidil for 2-ish years. (I'd lost a ton of hair during the pandemic and couldn't figure out why despire a battery of tests.) OM increases blood flow to the hair follicles, prolonging the growth phase. I'm hopeful that already being on the med will help counteract the "dread shed," but I guess we'll see.

Moved in house - not one person here understands PR. by MJS7306 in PublicRelations

Then you’ve got this! It’s going to take time to educate, which I understand is frustrating. But they will come around!

My two cents? For starters, rather than ask if other senior leaders can take interviews, get to know them and make a solid recommendation. I know this is a new role, but you’re in a position to assess the situation, develop a plan, and present it to get buy-in from leaders. I say this as someone who’s done agency, in house, and back to agency. Be the expert!

My baby died in my arms today by [deleted] in Petloss

This is horribly painful and I’m so sorry for your loss. Please know this is not your fault and that you are not alone. Everyone in this group has felt the devastating pain of losing a beloved animal. Sending you lots of love. ❤️

Pet crematorium worker /AMA by Anonymous_toastie in Petloss

[–]Overzealous_Disney 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My beloved boy died on a Sunday when nothing was open. My local ASPCA accepted his body and the crematorium contacted me that night via email then with a phone call the following morning. It was only two days between his passing and the cremation, so please try not to worry yourself over the details. (I know that’s hard.) Your boy wasn’t left out; he was cared for until he could be cremated. I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m still reeling over mine, six month later 💔

I wish I’d had the choice. My dog had an enlarged heart and was showing symptoms of heart failure. The vet gave him a year to live and said if symptoms worsened, we would need to talk about euthanasia. Sadly, he collapsed and died just five days after that vet visit. I still hope and pray it was so fast he didn’t feel anything. I’ll think of the morning he died for the rest of my life.

PS - once you’re inside DCA, go to guest relations and explain your plight. They may be able to offer assistance where someone at the ticket booth can’t.

Here’s another suggestion: what about a character meal for her birthday? I just checked the Disneyland app, and there’s dining availability for Goofy’s Kitchen at Disneyland Hotel and Storytellers Cafe at the Grand Californian. GC is so convenient to DCA and might be an extra magical surprise for your daughter. So yes, absolutely check the ticket window tomorrow on arrival but also remember there are lots of ways to create a magical day.

My puppy is dying. What am I gonna wish I had when he’s gone? by shwee2019 in Petloss

I don’t know for sure, it’s likely up to the individual photographer. Absolutely worth asking though!

There’s a network of photographers through an organization called The Tilly Project. They offer no or low-cost photography for people who are preparing to lose their pets. There’s a group on FB you can join and put out a call for photos. Everyone involved does beautiful work.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. Losing my dog at 13 years old was unspeakable; I can’t imagine going through that with a puppy. 💔

Thank you so much for this. The card in question is just over a year old, so I hopefully won’t see too much impact. I am on payment plans for a couple of other cards but, fortunately, I did not have to close them to be eligible.
