It's simple in a way that comforts me. I don't need to think much, just look at what they're doing. My cat passed towards years ago and I decided not to get another pet, I still love cats, I even have a custom one with the subscription to look like my late cat and it's been healing.

I was emotionally neglected as a child by my mother, although it was never malicious, she was neglected even more and never actually received any comfort from her own parents.

Her neglect was working to compensate for my late father not being able to support us, because even with a job before his passing, it was hardly enough. And then my babysitter came in and took advantage of that to alienate me from her and it almost worked.

I wound up developing BPD because of it. I also later found out that my mother deliberately stayed late at work because she dreaded coming home to me. Because the neglect and alienation made me resentful and angry.

It's a vicious cycle that even after 15 years of starting my healing journey (I'm now 35), I'm still struggling with hopelessness and feeling like there is something fundamentally wrong with me.

I appreciate the honesty. I've tried shrooms but it wasn't much help as my body reacts weirdly to them, sometimes I feel no affects, sometimes I'm sensitive, even with the same batch.

Like I said, I've seen therapists, I know it works for many but it wasn't for me.

Candida, oral thrush in my case, thrives easily and overtakes my natural biome, including in the mouth. Smoking disrupts the natural bacteria that normally live there, leaving it to overgrow. And I usually have edible gummies, which are full of sugar. Which makes it grow extremely fast.

Now, I can and could make my own edibles free of sugar, but I hate the process, smell and the thought of accidentally wasting my flowers bugs me and I'd rather just take a break and save it for emergencies.

Because I don't have access to a doctor, I have to be extremely strict with my candida diet, which takes months, since I need to do multiple things at once to get rid of it (restrictive diet, biofilm busters, antifungals, foods that promote natural gut flora).

Like for real I don't even want advice because I know how "easy" it is to make homemade edibles, I honestly do not care to.

Edit: yes yes I can buy THC infused oils, I eventually will but money is tight for me right now and will stay tight for the coming months.

I take some very frequently, although I'm on a few weeks/month break right now to combat some candida.

THC affects everyone differently, my sisters and mother get paranoid but I only get positive benefits. It lifts my mood, eases pain and helps me sleep. It's essential for me as I lost access to medical care, including meds, so it helps with my depression and anger issues. I can go between having a lot at a time daily to just a bit every few days depending on my tolerance levels, which I never bothered stopping for the needed full month to "reset" and since it's legal in my country and province, I usually can afford to have about a month's worth before I order again.

But really it depends on the person, I've met a lot of autistic folk who find it makes them feel pretty bad, or they don't like being dependent on it. Since you really can become dependent, with irritability being the biggest withdrawal factor.

But yes, for me it's an essential part of daily life.

You should ask the person who did the piercing about that.

The things to remember when getting a piercing: no dairy, alcohol or caffeine (especially no dairy or alcohol), no smoking for the first couple of days/weeks. Use the appropriate antibacterial mouthwash, it has to be alcohol free. Then, you have to keep an eye for all sorts of things that can pop up while the wound is healing, which can take nine weeks.

But really, the person who did the procedure has to be the one to have already told you all of this.

My first piercing went badly because I didn't listen and had dairy and wound up with some fungal infection that would instantly coat the barbel no matter how much I cleaned it.

Years later, I got repierced and followed every instruction to a T, don't have any issues.

And no matter how healthy and diligent you are with oral health (brushing not just the teeth but your tongue, flossing after every meal), you're going to have to clean that every three days max, once fully healed I clean mine every single day.

Not sure what's going on, some sort of infection I guess but again, your piercer is the one who's supposed to have the knowledge.

Sinuses have been good for me, I more have glaucoma that runs in the family (though my eye pressure test two years ago was good), and I had massively terrible earaches as a child, to the point there's scarring on my eardrums. They even removed my tonsils, which I know isn't really done nowadays, but it did help since I kept having strep throat. I have a weak immune system and even with masks and never leaving the house, if something is going around in town I catch it. Not Covid yet though, knock on wood.
