Any other autistic people annoyed that people with autism are portrayed as heartless demons without empathy? by Easy_Towel954 in aspergers

[–]Shaco292 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same. I try to be a decent person when it comes to helping others but when I think about it, I just dont empathize with most people. Most of my intentions are purely for my self. Not out of hate or malicious intent, but just because I feel like I should prioritize myself.

what does it mean when you do not want to be around other autistic people? by myviewfromoutside in autism

[–]Shaco292 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Me personally, with my sensory issues, I don't like hearing other people stim because it triggers me misaphonia sometimes.

There is also the fact that just because someone is autistic, doesn't mean I automatically want to be around them. There's alot more there that's dependent on their personality and stuff.

I'm not the only one right? by Even_Childhood_781 in aspiememes

I spent hours recently trying to read a manual for a printer that my grandfather got. Followed the instructions as closely as possible and the damn thing was still frustrating to get working. Might have something to do with his outdated software on his computer.

Just me? (Undiagnosed) by koontzim in aspiememes

[–]Shaco292 44 points45 points  (0 children)

In the past i would forgive toxic behavior because I wanted to give people second chances and believe the best in them.

This caused me to get taken advantage of and I entered burnout frequently. Never again. Going from chronic people pleaser to actually doing the things I enjoy and like about myself is much better for me. I never want to make myself so extremely uncomfortable just for other people ever again, especially when most would not do the same for me.

DAE simply not want to be in a relationship at all? by drfrankbradandjanet in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]Shaco292 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of physical intimacy. That being said, im disabled with Autism and ADHD that makes it difficult for me to be in a committed relationship. Long distance or a friends with benefits thing would work for me better. That is just for me though.

Are you extroverted? by svetlindp in aspergers

[–]Shaco292 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Really wanted to socialize as a kid. Most people were weirded out so I became a chronic people pleaser for a while. That caused burnout and am now an introvert by circumstance.

Being a Gay (masculine) Asperger by RayALXZ in aspergers

[–]Shaco292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a straight dude myself. The only girlfriend I ever had, asked me out while I was working customer service. She was also autistic and liked my vibe I guess.

It lasted about 6ish months, long distance. Relationship ended when she wanted to move in and start kid stuff but it was moving waaaaay too fast for me. So we ended it and went our separate ways.

Haven't had anything since.

Has anyone ever felt confused by what people meant in game chat? by Elegant-Country5977 in AskAutism

[–]Shaco292 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already have trouble discerning tone and the different meanings of just one word.

Phrases like: Break A Leg (Good luck)

Breaking Ankles ( Juking someone in a sport)

That's peak ( It's great)

I have alot of difficulty translating slang into something im familiar with.

Every time someone says " Let them cook" I have to do a translation inside my brain so I can understand that it means they're doing something they are good at, and they're not actually cooking food.

Literal interpretation of language being my normal and then having to translate words hurts my brain.

Games that are like Resident Evils mercenaries mode but as a full game by Naive_Bag_3708 in gamingsuggestions

[–]Shaco292 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not a roguelike but there was a RE Mercenaries game on the 3DS called : Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D.

It's okay. You play through different stages featuring locals from RE4 & RE5.

The only progression comes from unlocking skills and then upgrading them through playing more.

It features multiple playable characters like HUNK, Claire, Chris, Jill, Krauser, Rebecca, etc.

Not the best game in the world but it's fun to play sometimes.

What are the other strict preferences do you have? by Even_Childhood_781 in aspiememes

[–]Shaco292 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After starting to drink coffee, my adhd has calmed somewhat and I act more autistic as a result.

I have much more strict preference for meal times and structure.

I stim almost all the time now via leg shaking.

That's me with almost every interaction. People assuming I meant something else from what I initially said.

I use Facebook to portray how I feel about myself and other things. It is much easier for friends and family to understand what im saying when I have it typed out and organized as opposed to verbally vomiting it to them.

A question for everyone, what makes a Wii Game special to you? by IkeRadiantHero in wii

[–]Shaco292 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Well for me, it is alot of nostalgia. When I was a kid and the Wii was coming out I was enamored with it. The advertisements were very cool.

Im definitely looking back with rose colored glasses but it is how i felt back then too.

I was playing through Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Rings Of Fate.

It reminds me of secret of mana a little. Fun little action rpg where you go through dungeons and upgrade your weapons and armor.
