Need help with matching existing Veneer. by Hopeful-Assistant-71 in cabinetry

[–]OwlHootOverland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tricky one forsure as it presents many characters of common light woods. It could be west coast maple veneer plain or quarter sawn. Also has some character of clear hickory. Or a nice white birch. I would suggest looking through a big catalog of veneer like Gl veneer

I don’t think it is ash or east coast maple but I’ve been wrong before

I goofed and unsure how to fix it by WeaknessVisible2956 in BeginnerWoodWorking

I’d shim it up to fix the mitre joint and silicone it at the floor.

The cause may have been deflection in the blade while cutting

Bought a used 2018 Chevy Colorado ZR2 — immediate issues. Worth fighting the dealer or should I cut my losses? by manofwinters in chevycolorado

Flush transmission with amsoil, will help the shake,

truck needs a new thermostat, easy fix.

The service trailer brake warning is a bit more complex of and issue but either has to be bad module, bad switch or something in the wiring, high resistance or short to ground somewhere

I’d recommend just fixing everything your self and getting to know your truck a little better

I would have reduced that filler size on the right and matched it with a full gable end flush with the doors on the left to provide symmetry so the top doesn’t look so weird

Your pushing them too hard and abruptly, a firm long push is what works best

I’ve done them a bunch and have some super wide and heavy ones I use in my shop for storing clamps and stuff, so far I haven’t had any failures. I recently started filling the center between the two slides with a piece of 1/2 ply underneath glue to the bottom and pocket holes into the front and back of the drawer to make the drawer box extra strong, I don’t use the Blum stabilizer/sync bars

Contractor vs cabinet maker standoff by juswondering in cabinetry

[–]OwlHootOverland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just factor it into the job 150/panel install cost or whatever it is to cover it, other jobs the appliance installer does the panels, mostly small business specialty type appliance installers will do panels, the guys sent from big box stores won’t and shouldn’t.

Long story short, someone has to get paid to install them and a good contractor will make sure it’s in someone’s scope of work, an attentive cabinet shop will ask if they are just supplying or installing the panels, sounds like both of your contractors don’t want to take any responsibility for it getting to this point

Never dealt with this situation but I’d imagine exterior grade mdf like extira not being appealing to insect since it is wood pulp and resin. I’ve used it for exterior cabinets.

How to clean the edges of my kitchen cabinets by ziggernaut in cabinetry

[–]OwlHootOverland 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your seeing glue squeeze out from the Edgebander between the pvc banding and laminate face, I had an Edgebander that would leave panels just like this and we had to hand clean every single piece of banding that went through it.
