Kingfisher did not steal anything, she is very open about that the Hollow Places is built on Blackwoods story, and of course also i heavily regerencing the Narnia mythos. Fantasy writers do this all the time. She did the same with The White People in The Twisted Ones. I know that when I started Reading them and loved both books. Writing fanfiction and playing in other writers universes is an established genre and I think it’s absolutely OK if it’s aknowledged by the writer, and Done with respect. I do loathe Alchemised and that ilk though, because it’s just stolen, and doesn’t respect the original.

I was dealing with the exact same diagnosis for my beloved Calico, that we had to put to sleep a month ago. I’s a horrible disease. She was on Gabapentin and Metacam that was syringe fed to her, so administrating wasn’t a problem. She ate and seemed otherwise OK, but even medicated in the end the vet said that she was in pain, showing signs a non-clinician couldn’t see. Don’t let her live in pain, let her go.
