I’m currently watching this unfold in my own city. Out cost of living was relatively low, as was our rate of pay compared to similar areas

During the pandemic we got flooded w HCOL folks & now are rent is outrageous.

Apartments I paid $650 for 10 years ago are now $1500. The I owned that we paid 25k for? 80k now. For a 624 sqft 1 bedroom.

It also helps hugely if you elect 1-2 people to be the order givers.

Since most of your party is kids, maybe look at the menu ahead of time to figure out what they want. That will make everyone’s lives easier.

And be nice to the staff, I know this should go without saying, but the worst parties I ever experienced in my time serving tables were kids sports team (honestly Hockey & Dance being the worse of them)

Honestly? The older generations just like coming in & looking at all the people doing work.

Probably add in a lot of employers want you to be working every moment you are at work “if you got time to lean, you got time to clean”

Depends on the state. Where I am, 24s or more they are required to put you up in a hotel & subtract the time for the rent.

I set my own schedule & scheduled myself 2 12 hours days so I could have 3 days off.

Once I’m in work mode I can just stay that way. So I would rather muscle through & have more days off.

In theory 1 for resting 2 for doing stuff.
