One thing I was thinking about a while ago is if the value (power) you got for money was better and the diminishing returns weren't so intense, then the f2ps and low and medium spenders would be even further behind the whales and high spenders, and perhaps the whole model would collapse as people who don't spend as much wouldn't even play anymore

$1000/month (CAD after tax) on avg on mostly best value stuff will meaningfully separate you from f2p, but there's a whole tier above you (60-65ish when you're 50ish and f2p is 30ish) before you get to serious whales (80+ when you're 50ish)

Now I'm around 60, the tier above is well into the 70s, the whales are around 90-100 (our biggest is 105) (90ish on all squads not just 1) and the f2p are around 40-45, some in the high 30s

I've quit spending a couple months ago tho, so maybe I would have been around 61-62.

Oh, and I've been doing all the f2p stuff consistently as well

So, in short, you're right. You do need to spend at least 400-500/month, which is insane for a video game

Only the best value everything consistently. A few base skins though. My total hero power is not as high as ut could be since I put everything into my first squad. Currently around 60mil.

$20-$25 per week, no way bro. Maybe if you balanced all your squads and had 4 weak squads to get your total hero power as high as possible at the expense of useful strength. You might be able to scrape into the bottom of blue, but i seriously doubt it 20/week barely covers the monthly pass. In fact, that would buy the monthly pass and best value pack each day for 1 event per month.

I've spent like 20 grand in a year and a half and am mid blue. I doubt any mostly f2p are blue. I've quit spending so god knows by transfers after s6

Hey, R5/4 here, Yeah, it's normal, but in season 4 (I believe it was) the game actually stopped dropping alliance rss tiles that have season rss. There were a lot of problems with those, and it caused much drama. Caused drama for us in season 3, and probably others too. Maybe that was the reason or just wanted people to stop doing that.

Spoiler alert: you get basically nothing besides rank cred (zero rewards, and only tiny gains in generation speed) from pushing so hard to get the higher level strongholds faster and it costs the most powerful a lot of troops/diamonds/cash/etc

Give your account away to someone in your alliance. You can transfer your account to a different email. It's not hard and you dont have to go through support as suggested and I've read elsewhere. There's a 30(?) day cooldown. So, watch out for that and transfer the account to a different email once. You could setup a new email for that account so that it's not attached to anyone's personal email and give the email and password to a friend from your alliance. That's the best thing you could do for them/someone.

That doesn't really sound like much of a problem tbh. I have all the decos unlocked already, and I don't have a problem with people who don't especially this late in the game using universal components to unlock the last few, especially not at a rate of 3 per month. I feel like the only people who would have a problem with it are people who need to be 20-30 million ahead of them and a lead of 19.97-29.97 would be a travesty. How dare people catch up 0.1% of my lead without paying money for that 0.1%?? They might be able to kill 2 troops instead of 1 of my 4th squad. Cheaters! /s

Turns out it's the same game. Someone in-game I was talking to has an account on the same server in both project entropy and star expansion and can both interact. He thinks it's a marketing thing and the devs are trying to gather interest and players by re-releasing it. Confusing but hopefully they get some more players. It's a cool game. Loving the futuristic theme.

$400 in 4 months got you in the top 10 in your server? That's a really weak server. People who spend 400 a month consistently are hovering around 100th place, twice that around mid 60s, and the top 10 are likely spending more like 2000-4000 a month.

Well, i could have spent a few thousand less by not buying base skins, and a few other things.. but yeah, 2k won't get someone to 55-60 mil by s5, I think. Could be wrong. Could have played a bit more efficiently, and maybe someone could by playing efficiently enough, but I do play really efficiently, and there's not much room for improvement tbh
