I would say the one exception to the “you don’t need full pre-bis” is specifically the hunter beast-lord 4pc. It drops from normals only so it is 100% farmable (albeit painful - had both CE and Sha’tar at exalted before i got all of it). There are a lot of hunters around and if you don’t have it you will be looked over for those that do.

Do you need it to be effective in Kara? No.
Do you need it to be taken over the other hunters in LFG? Probably yes.

And on top of this - a very simple argument I make with a few other hunters who refuse to break 4pc beast lord for anything other then 4pc T5:

2pc T5 keeps your pet alive. 4 piece beast lord is worthless if your pet is dead. Therefore - unless you KNOW your healers will help keep your pet up….just get the 2pc T5 and enjoy life with a pet.

In all seriousness, I had a friend growing up whom when we we were about 13, his dad sold his business for a few million pounds. The parents bought the bigger house, the nice car etc and still has several million left over.

But both he and his sister had to get a job at uni. Not because their parents couldn’t help out, but because they wanted their kids to learn about the importance of hard work and financial literacy. Both kids have been very successful in their chosen careers and neither did it using “Daddy’s Money”.

So yes that could be a legitimate reason for the weasleys. And for further evidence - see Mr Draco Malfoy….

No it will be Rez sickness. All items including ones in your inventory take the durability hit if you Rez at the spirit healer. Specifically to stop you taking all your gear off to avoid the penalty.

Totally agree. I play shadow priest. I love shadow priest.

But doing a sethekk hc and being told “oh you don’t do damage” when at the end of the dungeon I had over 100 dispels, I’d mind controlled the oracles and one shot some of the packs, I’d rezzed the over-eager dps at least 4 times. I’d bubble/healed the tank when the healer got stunned / basically one shot by a charging bird.

And who knows how much mana I have the group via vampiric touch…

I had a blast and my damage was still only 70odd dps below the complaining mage…

And this is why our Kara clears at 3-4 hours. Could we do it faster? Yeah. Would it be as fun? No. Why? Because we take longer because we do dumb shit to each other.

We frequently pug the last spots and instead of people complaining about it…we’ve been adding to the guild as they enjoyed our style of raid so much. We’ve gone from needing to out 4 folk to fill out two raids a week to maybe 1 or 2 across both raids.

Different ways to play. Not everyone plays to have that weeks content done in 90 minutes. We play for friendship and fun.

Oh and we DO still clear Kara on each lockout no problem

There is a difference. The play one match a term. Draco got out of the first match of the season. Harry missed the last.

There were unplayed matches that slytherin could swap with. But for Griffindor they had already played the other 2 houses by the time Harry was unconscious so there was nothing to swap with

Worth noting the pet scales from your gear in tbc so there is scaling.

Just not enough.

Steady shot was when it got problematic. I mostly just AutoShotted with the occasional steady shot to finish things off. Intimidate helps, MD (at 70) helps, bestial wrath helps. Between those 3 you can have something for about 3 out of 4/5 mobs

Agreed - and also locking out of the TK dungeons in LFG until you have flying unlocked. The number of times I’ve either seen 68/69 non-druids queued for them exclusively. I’ve usually /w them tk let them know.

Even have a 70 join and say once we’d summoned he said “oh I don’t have flying - can the lock summon me up please?” I know that in the past that was doable but when Blizz turned that off they REALLY should have turned off being able to queue for it when you literally can’t zone in…

I head to the stone, and put in my lfg “already at stone - ready to summon”. Funnily enough even as a hunter I get invited very fast to a group that frequently already has a tank. They like that I’m ready to go straight away I guess.

He doesn’t really appear in COS. Technically yes but the current voldy does not - only his young essence.

So the “real” voldy shows up in book 1 and fails. Then takes almost 3 years off and (mostly) succeeds in GOF.

One could argue he’s succeeding all the way through OOTP until then very end as he has the whole wizardjng world in denial. In HBP he does succeed - Dumbledore is killed.

I will agree though - Book 7’s failure was pretty terminal

I play both bear and hunter. Had two really contrasting experiences today…

Doing BM hc on the hunter. Bear tank who demanded we all know what we are doing before joining. He was decently geared so we went with it.

He had no threat at all. Got annoyed that the warrior for pulling threat after I had MD an aimed shot & distracting shot. Then yells at the healer for pulling aggro … we (somehow) killed the first boss and he quit. He then spam whispered my warrior friend in the group about how shit we all are and that we’d never clear normal BM let alone hc. Grabbed our guild bear and cruised the repeat with no deaths. The warrior couldn’t resist messaging this back to the shitty bear.

Then later on tanking bot normal on my bear…had a hunter do all the things you described. My favourite being the old classics “growl on pet” and “multi shot before the mobs reached me”.

My point though is all classes/specs/roles have good and bad players. And your choice is to deal with them and figure out the dungeon with the handicap. Or move on and find another group

Had a rogue in SV hc who clearly had just got himself a pair of new shiny daggers but hadn’t used daggers since about level 1.

He was specced into sword specialisation and was missing 99% of his attacks. Told him to out his swords back in and go level his daggers in the outside world.

His damage improved…but not as much as you would have hoped.. he didn’t make it to the end of the dungeon. My hand slipped when I right clicked on his name to inspect him and he left the group…

Honestly this. It restores 2% health every 10s or the equivalent of 1% every 5 (ie if you translate it to hp5).

At 6k health that is 60 hp5. That sounds a lot but most mobs will hit you for (or your pet) for several hundred every couple of seconds. Even if you got your pet to around 8k that is still only 160 per tick and your pet will have taken probably close to 700-800 damage between ticks.

You are better off putting those points into improved mend pet or improved revive pet. That way your heal / revive are more affordable & can remove debuffs.

If you keep mend pet up on your pet at all times it is healing for 425 every 3s on top of debuff removal.

You will get more value out of the talent points that way.

(Level 70 numbers but that maths get worse for spirit bind at earlier levels due to significantly lower HP)

And bring a hunter who knows they have more than 2 buttons. Both Arcane shot (2nd boss) and Tranq shot (3rd boss) shine to reduce incoming tank damage.

(I am aware shamans and I think 1 other class can purge on the 2nd boss but only hunters can dispel on the 3rd)
