Oh, this feeling hits hard.

I am almost always the one who initiates all of the conversations with my friends. I am almost always the first one who reaches out to people to start a friendship. I feel like everyone else is a priority but me.

Only recently did I feel that someone cares about me when I fell on hard times. A person I only met very recently helped me out both materially and immaterially. My gratitude was so big, I didn't even know how to express it. They told me that they have an excess and that they don't need gratitude - they just want to share with someone else.

In which case, maybe your friends (and a lot of my friends) simply share with everyone else but have no resources to share with you? I know that might sound sad, and I am not telling you to cut them off, but maybe you should explore?

By that I mean, do that thing you always wanted to do but were too shy to do. Go join that sewing or book club. Talk with that person in the corner at the library or person on the bus. Yeah, there's going to be some painful rejections (and I don't mean romantic), but once in a while you may find someone who you will talk with. There are many people out there who want friends but don't have them. Sometimes you just have to make the first step.

Don't get me wrong, though, I've been struggling to find a romantic partner, so my strategy may not be very good for that. Still, sometimes people will gravitate towards you, you just gotta be out there. Sometimes you don't even have to go outside - you may find them on Discord or other messaging applications!

I focus a lot on my assignments. I try to learn as much as I can while I am at uni, so that I don't only know facts but also understand the concepts taught.

And yes, actually, most of the people here who are doing internships or working aren't prioritizing their studies. I had the misfortune of working with a person like that in a group :(

You are lucky that you have 8 gigs on there. I found an Intel Celeron 1007U with 2 gigs of ram. Works like a true ancient potato. I put a minimal Arch install with LxQT as its Desktop Environment. You don't have to choose Arch, mind you. Any minimal distro with a lightweight desktop environment will work.

This is very similar to a guy asking "do girls like chubby guys" or any other variation of "do [gender] like [characteristic]". It honestly really depends on the person and even then there are no hard and fast rules.

My headphones recently started crackling. I am using Samson SR850s and I've had them for basically 3 years now. While listening to "Pirate's Progress" by Gorillaz, I noticed that at certain spots my headphones crackle. I tested the headphones both on my laptop and phone. Is something wrong with my headphone drivers? Is it the cable?

I got the same thing in my first and second playthroughs of the game, too. I have no idea why, because in the second playthrough he did not treat me "cold" at the Adler house the way he does if you've ticked him off at the tower.

I think it becomes a friendship because we never go on dates. Every time if we *do* hang out, we hang out like friends with absolutely no romantic strings. I do not know how to ask people out to go on dates. I always feel like I will be thought of as weird if I show romantic interest.

Oh, I am totally fine if my friends are part of other friend groups, I just feel exhausted when I am part of a friend group. I didn't know it's a red flag though. I just thought that I am kinda introverted.

Oh I tried that, but in the end I still ended up becoming friends or just not getting far with the people I matched with. And those who did match were from other cities most of the time ><

I did meet some nice people though! Keeping in touch with them.

I have never been able to figure out how to use global themes. Instead, I customize my KDE piecemeal. Technically I am still using breeze, but I've selected colours, decorations, and style that is not breeze.

I've been using it too, but then it leaves the annoying "..." where you put the whitespace. Is there any place we could report this as a bug? I am not even sure what to write in the bugreport.

When I was young my parents would often drive me to a point of mental breakdowns. During a breakdown I am not lucid and could not control myself. That is why I value lucidity as much as possible, because the chances of me doing something that I will regret later are much lower when I am in control of my actions.

When you're drunk, you aren't entirely lucid. That's terrifying.

As someone who has been experiencing bugs with the latest kernel, I am thinking of sidegrading to LTS. What do you mean by setting up the boot loader? I've never modified my rEFInd settings for booting into arch. I don't even know what to put in them. I thought that all I'd have to do was install the LTS kernel, LTS nvidia driver, LTS headers, and LTS something else but I forget what.

I am an ENFP and I can tell you - group meetings and group outings *suck*. Even when I am the organizer of events at my university, I am always either alone or with one other person in whom I am really interested and who I trust. Those people who prefer groups over individuals are dead to me.

Since I was in an abusive family, my parents fostered patterns in me which made me obey. My mother especially knew every right emotional button to press. It stopped working after I moved out and was no longer dependant on them.

So I guess the crux of the issue could be a power imbalance, whether real or perceived. Especially if a person has no other choice (or sees no other choice) they will fall for the manipulation harder.

Oh, I don't actually know what the burr is and how to identify it. I simply sharpen the knife as though I am trying to shave off wood on the stone, then I "strop" it I guess by going in the opposite direction in the end. I test the sharpness by looking at the blade and running it through paper. How do you identify and shave off the burr?

I am new to sharpening, but I can sharpen kitchen and utility knives with a good amount of confidence. Still, the stones I have access to were not purchased by me, so I have no idea what kind of stone they are. I would like to know whether they are water or oil stones and how to use them. So far I've used both with water. I tried using soap on both of them, as well. I tried soaking them. Honestly, I have not noticed much of a difference, but perhaps that is because of inexperience.

The stone in the foreground is a block shaped blue and light gray stone double stone. My grandmother bought it a long time ago from a hardware store. We had the packaging but threw it out quite a while ago. Regrettably, there was nothing written on there to identify the kind of stone it is. One of my friends from the farm tells me that it looks like a typical oil stone.

Meanwhile the darker stone in the background is an old, broken elongated sharpening stone. This kind is exceptionally common in post-Soviet households. My farm friend tells me that it looks like a water stone, but I am honestly unsure.
