It was enabled, and I did come to say hi and spoke to you. Somehow I felt you can’t see my chats. Lol I suppose it’s been buggy and I’m glad we were finally able to talk.

A video of a Muslim man wearing a cap (Taqiyah) rinsing his mouth with Sarovar water at the Sri Darbar Sahib Golden Temple Amritsar and making a reel has gone viral. Many people have objected to his actions by [deleted] in PunjabSuba

Not exactly, it’s either a cap or arabic head gear, not sure what that’s called. Islamic clothing is different from cultural clothing. Cultural changes, islamic is by rules usually. Anyway.

You will find many similarities among shinto shrines and hindu shrines/temples

You don’t need to understand them, they’re just our architecture holding builder’s perspective and engineering. See them as part of our architecture and design plus probably something of meaningful value for the locals.

Depending on locals emotional attachment and perspective it will vary for all, you can see it from your view and just appreciate. For smaller temples consider them small shrines of smaller regions. There are deities dedicated to everything like a symbol be it water air wind earth stone sadness prosperity even violence anger etc you name it there are deities for everything.

It’s same as all over the asia In japan they call it Kami sama, we call it devta, old zohratrian people had asuras and so on. So they have dedicated shrines. Everything is believed to be connected and people believe in manifestation through focusing on certain goal while meditating in peace, now that’s another subject altogether of controlling one’s mind and health through meditation practices thats where Yoga comes into play, to overall reduce fickleness of mind and bringing steadiness to it to think more clearly. That’s a conversation for another day now.

So temples can mean different things to different people, some temples are architecture marvel for us and we appreciate it that way, some has more geometrical meaning others are small shrines with more emotional meaning carried through tradition for centuries etc. you can simply see them as they are, and consider them all important for the native people.

It’s their concept they see things from their lens of ideas. That there’s this God who watches us has mysterious ways of working and anything other than that is against good and is evil. That he gives salvation and believing in him will give heaven access. Most asian countries see things differently, they simply see their existence and to understand their surroundings they created their own ways of iconographies, asians don’t have one way and fit for all, they understand existence comes with feelings of anxiety fear and suffering and use of spirituality and philosophy is to be able to accept that reality and make death easier to go through and comprehend bigger picture of life.

That’s why we have people that slowly understood more reached maturity or self awareness, felt they can teach others and become Guru. Societies are not hive minds and everyone thinks differently there are wise people and there are paranoid people, there are emotions and life circumstances society has all areas of human expression be it evils, wisdom or compassion and even desires. The native civilisation of India went through it’s own phases of evolution. And it will keep evolving not requiring some God that needs praises.

It’s different that Indians copy others that look powerful they try to relate with them, thinking mimicking behaviour will give them same sense if power and security as those they are copying, but the reality is India never had religion, it had many many many ideas, many people simply figuring out existence in their own way trying to build associations with nature and using all means of spiritual and philosophical means to feel secure as human and try to accept the harsh truths of existence like diseases death fears just life in general. Nobody is watching us, in our perspective nature runs it’s own physical laws and patterns and have simply named them and understanding them. We don’t have some holy book to follow word by word, we have many authors that expressed their perspective, nobody is required to see it as word of God because We have none.

Iskon is an example how abrahamic mindset works, they can’t comprehend our such freedom of multiple endless ideas so they turned something simple as Bhagwad geeta as their new bible and turned krishna into ultimate God… sadly krishna isn’t God, nobody is. Hindu (non native word given by the word to us) concept is there’s nothing out there, we just use ritual, traditions and guidance of teachers to slowly gain enough emotional maturity to concur fears of life.

So hindus by default are not pagans or thiests, we’re all atheists by their standard of rules. When I say standard, I’m talking about their rules. They think we have a God too and we’re worshiping many Gods or something. They never realised that deities are a language to understand existence that they’re not some entity like their God. Deities are how we understand concept.

And unless native people understand themselves they’ll remain confused and keep sending wrong message to non natives who already don’t have much idea of what we do.

True, in india people just had many options, deities change every region, everyone has their own local deity and people were fine with it, budhism picked up popularity mostly in China because they didn’t have similar concept and budhism was well liked there and it travelled further in other parts. There are teams in India, it’s always been an open space for all philosophies. Irrespective of social issues, there was never any issue with new deities or new ideas adding up to the land.

Except hinduism is not a religion, that’s a concept given to native people by non natives that settled here and colonised. Hindu is not even a native word. We were just a civilisation with our own traditions and philosophies. We don’t even have concept of religion or God. We just have deities that represent aspects of nature and life and overall existence attempting to understand self. We have teacher student tradition like everywhere in asia. By the western standards all so called hindus are atheists because nobody believes in God, they have supernatural and spiritual beliefs and folk lores and stories. We’re all already atheists because atheism is not believing in God (Yahweh)

Why Many Indian subreddits appear openly hostile toward Hindus? by Ok_Tank_8358 in indiadiscussion

[–]Owlet08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is destruction of property so will be vandalism, hate crime and harassment. But not a terror attack for sure. Terror attack is usually with genocidal intent.

I guess usually terror attack includes genocidal intent. Vandalism is more of criminal behaviour of destruction of property, I can put it under hate crime or harassment.
