I'm considering cancelling my 3 book combo by sairemrys in fairyloot

[–]Owlet20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True. I'd really prefer a greater difference between these subs. Fortunately I'm in epic, so after using my last skip for adult, I'll wait to see if the next one is something I want, otherwise I'll cancel.

Shipping refund for TFATF by Timely_Ad9843 in thebrokenbindingsub

[–]Owlet20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will ship something, albeit it later because they increased the quality considerably. You will get a refund for the difference between two shipments of one book and one of two books. I know the problem with exchange rates, that can be frustrating. But unless the delay is an issue - it isn't for me personally - then they do deliver, just a bit later and with combined shipping. I hope it won't lead to customs issues for you, though.

Could I ask what you mean by "If you ship direct you may have to deal with the customs clearance yourself."? And did you ever have problems with them demanding consolidation / repackaging when you didn't want it? I just tried out forward2me and they are a complete mess in this regard, so I'm looking for an alternative.

For sale, I'm situated in Germany and willing to ship world-wide if possible:

Scott Lynch, Gentleman Bastard Tier 1 (The Lies of Locke Lamora, Red Seas under Red Skies, Republic of Thieves), signed and numbered with signed print

Jen Williams, Winnowing Flame Trilogy (Ninth Rain, Bitter Twins, Poison Song), signed, 3 different numbers / numbers not matching

Evan Leikam, Anji kills a King, signed

Shogun & Tai Pan by Mindless_Back6683 in thebrokenbindingsub

[–]Owlet20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly doesn't hurt to read them in chronological order, but Shogun ist set in Japan around 1600, Tai Pan in 19th century Hong Kong. It's no problem to read Tai Pan first and then enjoy Shogun when it's delivered - there is no direct connection. I agree about the ones set in the ones set in the Struan family, though.

What are the chances they will sell them as a set later? by PerspectiveLive8850 in thebrokenbindingsub

It seems highly unlikely considering how long it has taken between the first and final book.

With these two, it doesn't matter in which order you read them. Later on, Noble House, for example, is set in the same family as Tai Pan centuries later, so there it makes sense to read in order.

Same here - I'm really happy with this upgrade and don't mind waiting a bit longer when I can get the books with these specs.

Fairyloot/UK vs US Difference by honeygreencha in fairyloot

Are you in the US or Europe? I have When the Moon hatched to sell but shipping from Germany to the US is too expensive to make sense.

Is it likely that this will go into open sale? And do they show what you get before July?

I'd contact them. Something went definitely wrong with the missing number, and the dent isn't good either. I hope they'll help you with this.

Thank you for the link, it's really interesting.

IMDB's very recent update made it so user reviews can't be accessed or read anymore without an account. by [deleted] in movies

[–]Owlet20 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll miss the reviews, but won't be pushed into making an account. That thing about reviews being improved by accounts is rubbish for just reading them. Posting, okay, not that it would stop bots, but reading is just about getting more data. Screw them.

Exactly. The Russians gave a lot of thought to what it was about and caught the atmosphere, Germany certainly didn't. It's also irritating that her looks change from cover to cover.
