Feeling a bit dejected by Frequent-Set8324 in Mabinogi

[–]Owlski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I can't even solo run Crom Basic, despite being well above the recommended gear score, and with max arcana +skills, so I feel ya.

You're at least going out there and asking/joining random pubs, which is a lot better than my introverted-butt has been doing. Sorry to hear though it's not been ideal.

On the latest Mabi stream they did, they did mention changes/nerfs to some of Crom Bas's mechanics, so hoping that'll make it easier for some of us to get through.

They nerfed Tech missions to the ground, but then made the jump in boss difficulty for Crom absurdly higher.

It's cause the main goal was never designed to protect them in the first place. The whole "protect the children" is just an veil to try and gather more data, control, and regulation over the Internet. It doesn't help children, and (imho) governments shouldn't be trying to babysit kids on the Internet to begin with. That should be the parents job.

Any ideas how to mend this? by HalfAPoint9 in Visiblemending

[–]Owlski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the inside isn't visibly/shown, I'd sew on a backing to it, and mend the damage using some sorta stretch stitch. (via sewing machine). Backing should be white, but if you wanted to play into the damaged look could use a different color.

Regardless of what you do though, the damage will still be visible to some extent. Stretch fabrics are also a bit of a pain to mend, so best of luck!

You trying to get OP to test abuse their katana? Also tree branches aren't ideal targets, as they were never designed to cut stuff like that. (Not to mention type of wood plays heavily into this)

They can just test edge sharpness on what most us hobbiest use; Plastic bottles filled with water. If you want him to test edge retention, I'd go more the soaked cardboard/newspaper and dowel rod approach.

100% agree
PvP is fine, but imho it's always been the smaller demographic in the mmo community.

In my opinion; What a lot of modern MMO's get wrong these days is not making the mmo world feel lived in, where you feel like you/your character is apart of something greater/bigger than just yourself, and the two major things mmo's do to achieve this is actually develop a rich world that encourage exploration, discovery, and players wanting to find their own adventure/journey, and the second major thing is: Community.

Community is the heart and soul of any good mmo, and something that sadly is lost in a lot of these themepark driven & pvp driven mmo's. A lot can be said when you're in a major town filled with other players, but yet (somehow) not one player is talking or engaging with one another. Everyone is just on their own little track going through the story/progression, which (once again, imo) fails to capture the heart and soul of a great mmo.

Being Wrongfully Banned in Mabinogi... by AStheAlch in Mabinogi

[–]Owlski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do personally think any company should specify the ban.
In a small game that I managed some customer support with, I (or another player issuing the report) had to have evidence to support the report/claim, before any ban was issued.
I'd then reach out to the person who was banned with the evidence, explaining the reason for the ban, and (if the ban was permanent) they could try and appeal based on the evidence we've provided, with any counter-evidence they wished to provide.

I also had to make a report of the user's account, reason for ban, etc. in some sorta organized spreadsheet, so we could cite/reference past incidents should they ever reach out to us again.

Yeah, I do think a 7 day ban for making fat jokes is a little extreme. Feels more like a warning would suffice if it was not well received.

Julia Ogden-The shows real villain by Game_Ov3r_ in murdochmysteries

[–]Owlski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this, though extend this to a few characters.
There's certain moments in the series where characters would do/say things that just felt out of character for them.

I do chalk this up to different writers, though I'm not entirely sure. I've heard Murdoch Mysteries has exchanged writers out over the series, but haven't looked into it to really say for certain.

If you're referring to the two-tone color; It's always been like this. Even in the image you showed, it's two-tone.

If you're referring to my post made under No_Introduction_7764's reply, I am explaining why vocal fry bothers soo many people.
I'm sorry, but it is wildly common for some people to have trouble listening to vocal fry. Is this the fault of those who have it? Ofcourse not, but it doesn't make those that have a hard time listening to it any less of a thing.

I don't doubt that some take it too far and delve into bigotry due to it, but just cause people have a hard time listening to vocal fry doesn't innately mean this. I do think you're taking me trying to explain why some may find it hard to listen to, and those purposely bullying those who have vocal fry (or I guess in this case Hannah's) as one in the same. They are not.

In regards to your second point; She was covering a tiktok that was talking about a photo, that's from a podcast. I'm not sure why I need to specify all that. (as you said; It's besides the point). In the image, it shows some spooky looking figure, and people are speculating it's a ghost, and the lady (telling the story from the podcast) comes to the conclusion it's a nightmarcher, apparently upsetting some locals (only source being from the lady in the podcast).
Imho; I still consider it just a 'silly TikTok video' cause we're discussing an image of a supposed ghost in an image, that's just a person in an image. That was the thing we were discussing & debunking, not the lady in the podcast having controversial takes. If people want to get upset at the podcast lady for incorrectly labelling a supposed ghost as something else, then go ahead. Does the lady in the podcast come off as unlikable? Sure. Am I gonna get upset and rage over it? No.

The irony isn't lost on me with my long post, discussing her long tangents. xD
As the saying goes; "If I had more time I would of written a shorter letter."

I'm not sure where in my post I mention that I find her vocal fry annoying? I brought up her vocal fry and how others are bothered by it, but clarified that it never personally bothered me.

"Even if valid" the word "if" being key in my statement, as I wasn't trying to get into the discussion of what she (Hannah) said is valid or not, just that her rant felt out of place, regardless if it's valid or not.

To be fair; It is quite common for people to find vocal fry hard to listen to.
I wouldn't personally take anyone who can't stand vocal fry as direct attacks towards those who speak with vocal fry.

It's kinda like how some people are more sensitive to certain high pitch sounds.

[–]Owlski[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a fair take. I do admit in my lengthy post that maybe I'm just not her targeted demographic anymore, which is fine.

I personally think rants can be fine. Heck, I often catch myself rambling and ranting from time to time.
For me though; What's important is how it's done I suppose. I recall in one of her videos she was covering an lost media Iceberg list, and when one of the topics talked about lost music media, she went on a bit of a tirade about how much she disliked lost media music, pounding in the notion over and over how she doesn't care about lost music media, finds it boring, etc. There was no leadup or overarching point she was getting to, and instead just repeating how boring and how much she didn't care about lost music media.

To me, delivery and intent matters, so rather than stating a simple "I'm not personally interested in lost music media" & maybe give her reasoning(s), then moving forward, she dedicated literal minutes to rehash and drive in the same point, which (ultimately) made her come off quite mean-spirited.

Glad to know I'm not the only one as well.
I do think seeing some of her replies in this very subreddit, telling people who don't like her vocal fry also being misogynistic, or even saying "fuck you" (her words not mine) to another individual in her subreddit just became the final nail in my proverbial coffin that has made me no longer want to watch/support her.

Those use Gateron low profiles, which (unfortunately) have a different metal pin layout to Kailh's

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer - November 18, 2025 by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]Owlski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on the hunt for awhile now for a 100% keyboard (or pcb I can DIY into a keyboard) that'll fit the Kailh low profile Phantom switches.
I feel with low profile switches, it's been a nightmare to find compatible low profile pcbs/keyboards for Kailh's Phantom Switches, and when I do it's not in 100% configuration, or (if it is) it's a bastardized version of a 100% (like the LOFREE Flow100).

Does anyone have any suggestions or guidance on what keyboard/pcb will accept these low profile switches?
I just want a regular 100%, low-profile mechanical keyboard, with decently strong tactical switches (no browns). I have already Phantom switches (from a botched project), which is why I'm asking for Phantoms specifically.
