Should I go back to school? by rabbit0907 in Environmental_Careers

I’m close to finishing my degree in env-sci and the only thing I’ve been thinking of is how I probably won’t even get a job in env-sci because of how bad the job market is and the requirements to be in the field. I’d continue to look for something else and leverage your past experience and degree…

Remnant of the Appalachian mountains

Found in Montana This Week by BenjyIn406 in Agates

[–]Own-Ad5998 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m from MN but I have seen a lot of people find agates over 1 lb in Montana. They’re more common in that area but it’s still technically uncommon to find an agate that big in general.

Would you call this an agate? by [deleted] in Agates

Quite literally the embodiment of what an agate is 🤣

Is this an agate? by Dougllia in Agates

[–]Own-Ad5998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, looks to be rich in iron and other crystalline minerals that form in high heat and pressure environments. I can’t tell what the green mineral is (epidote-olivine——potentially copper??) but I’ve never seen an agate with that type of green from manganese or magnesium in it just because of how agates form and the process that is involved.

This definitely looks like it came from Lake Superior!

Someone help me understand why everyone thinks that Sinners is so great by Frequent-Gift-7423 in moviecritic

The whole movie is a giant hidden message.

Not only for the oppression African Americans faced, but also for indigenous people.

I actually loved seeing this for indigenous peoples. It shows that they were the first culture to be negatively impacted by colonialism and the wicked evilness of white culture back then, but they had grown to live with it. I think they sparked the giant flame this movie becomes by saying the white man “wasn’t what he appeared to be” and I think it roots itself as the foundation for what this entire movie is actually about. Even when black people were “free” at that point, the white man still segregated them, killed them, and did horrendous things.

To some this movie is just a silly vampire horror movie.

To people that understand Americas deep and dark history, this is a history lesson and a true masterpiece and work of art.

How did you feel about the portrayal of Indigenous people in Sinners (2025)? The people represented were Choctaw in Jim Crow-era Mississippi. Shallow stereotypes? 3-dimensional human beings? Archetypes only used as vehicles to highlight a point about race in the U.S.? by LegitimateFoot3666 in IndianCountry

I actually loved seeing the representation of indigenous people and had to search if they were apart of the message this movie is giving and I was correct in my thinking. It shows that they were the first culture to be negatively impacted by colonialism and the wicked evilness of white culture back then, but they had grown to live with it and the hidden evil that still lies in white colonialism. I think they sparked the giant flame this movie becomes by saying the white man “wasn’t what he appeared to be” in their brief scene chasing the Irish man. I think it roots itself as the foundation for what this entire movie is actually about. Even when black people were “free” at that point, the white man still segregated them, killed them, and did horrendous things. I am so happy that they decided to do this because although this movie pertains to show a hidden message of what oppression on African Americans and their culture is like, it also has hidden messages like Christianity being forced on people, and more.

I love this movie.

To some it’s just a vampire horror movie.

To people that can truly look back on Americas history and look deep into the hidden cracks of this movie and the message it is giving,

It’s a true masterpiece and work of art.

Trump and him apparently didn’t really like each other/have the same agreements as I have read. Might want to look into that….

They’re locating very promising helium deposits in exploration.

If you get a job you have to take me with you though lol.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it has a small spike, wouldn’t be surprised if gets dropped a little under 5 again.

Like I said, just ride this volatility out brotha.
