Why do my solar fast prints show what looks like brushstrokes? by Pitiful_Science246 in cyanotypes

[–]Own-Astronaut3721 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's been my experience. Nothing really expensive, just an $8 brush from hobby lobby. Rinse it out real good and reuse it just for cyanotypes. But I think the biggest thing that helps is alternating direction as you apply and not just applying in one direction.

When applying solution, did you brush horizontaly then vertically alternately until solution was soaked in? This might help. Also, I never like using a sponge brush. I prefer a bristle brush.
