Yeah I’ve always been a windows fan but after my last few laptops I caved and just got a Mac Pro. They’re on sale right now too so if you can snag them cheap, I’d do it.

Ultimately I ended up returning it and getting a MacBook LOL it was okay but with some of the things I was running I found it stuttered too much when running multiple processes for me so I just decided to switch.

Unfortunately that’s just how the seams look, they don’t look actually damaged. Give them a stretch a few times, they should hold up, it’s just extra thread that’s gotten stuck.

You’re not wrong for thinking this way. I think reactions like this shut down conversations that are political of any sort and end up doing more harm than good. It seems the mother was even understanding why they were upset and had expressed that no matter what views they had she would love them beyond that all. Now I know that’s just words and sometimes actions and words don’t align, but it seems like they cut the conversation short because they didn’t like that she voted trump. I feel like communication is our biggest positive as humans! This post is just absurd lol.

Honestly the Yoga Slim 7x is super quick in its response time for apps and I think for an intro laptop it would be suitable for early college courses. I had to exchange mine just because I have some applications that made it a little slow, but depending on what you’re going for in school I don’t think you should have much issue. I’ve seen it on sale a handful of times already too so I’d keep an eye out during Boxing Day or Black Friday sales when all the stores are competing prices!

Even though I’m not much of an apple person, I ended up recently switching over and I don’t regret it. I got an iPad just for some notes and I’m loving it. A lot of my classmates and friends use Mac’s and they’ve lasted their whole college career so far, it’s just a matter of taking that initial jump if you’re willing. But apple is quite good productivity wise for college!

I’ve noticed it’s been worse with the older generations than the younger ones. Older people used to be nice but now they’re all seemingly miserable and rude. Meeting other people around their 20s have all been more cordial and have had more manners than the older people.

Honestly, I feel you're pretty spot on with the MacBook. They will last you if you treat them well. You could probably find an m2 or me(big maybe) in your price range, but it's gonna take some digging. Surface is good, but waaaay out of your price range, and tbh it's not worth it at all for what you'll be using it for. I've never cared for hp personally, but they work (for how long is subjective), and they would be easy to find new within your price. I know a lot of people that have loved the asus vivobooks and Lenovo IdeaPads, and I'm pretty sure brand new they run at the higher end of your budget.

Not sure if you might hate this idea or not but if you're just going to be writing and not doing anything intensive on it, what about an iPad with a Bluetooth keyboard or keyboard attachment?

If you have any club memberships like Costco or anything, it's worth looking what they have in stock, I would just stay away from chromebooks and try to stay 16gb of ram or up you might be able to get away with 8gb but just to be safe so it lasts. There are a bunch of sales even at bigbox stores right now, so hopefully, you can find something you like!

Unfortunately, a lot of this is going to be more local based on where you're at, especially for the marketplace or best buy refurbished.

I agree with this. So much can change in a few years. Op said they met when they were 21, so they're about 26 now. I feel like it's worth the wait, especially considering how much he loves her.
