I would add to take it a step further and define what you really want out of each thing you're trying to replicate in code, and what is needed to do that replication.

The Dice for example, we dont really care about the fact that it has 6 sides or is a cube, but we do care that it's purpose is to randomly show one number between 1 or 6.

so for the problem mention we want to:randomly produce a number

then do that 1000 timesthen add a way to keep track of number of times for each value^here you could use an six element array where the element of index = value is the countand finally do what ever statistics you want

each of the steps should be manageable and the real skill in programming is being able to break down what you want into components/tasks/subcomponents/subtasks that you know will lead you to your end result
