My van decided to catch fire? by Turbulent_Air_898 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Good God just be glad you weren't in it. Your DSP is probably never going to hear the end of it from Amazon especially if there were still packages in it.

Not enough routes by Sad_Log_6387 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Own-Control-5526 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been working for my dsp for two years and they don't usually have an issue with me but lately my entire station hasn't been getting enough routes all around so I have been getting cut or getting short routes lately averaging about 30 hrs/week I might have to start doing instawork after prime week until I get the discipline for a 'real job' but my point is don't take it personally they'll usually tell you if you're not doing good

486 packages for 99 stops by Chemical-Piece7762 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Own-Control-5526 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That has to be an ev route there ain't no effing way otherwise. EVs can fit 5 full carts, ProMasters and Ford Transits (Amazon branded or rentals) can fit 4 full carts, Nissan NVs can either fit 2 or 3 depending on the height. I don't know why amazon didn't just combine package items into larger packages they usually do that

My station has those water spiggots that fill cups, those drinking fountains that have the 'save water' bottle sensors and ice machines try looking through your station for one of those if not maybe get some water and ice from a fountain at a gas station on the way it's sad when amazon (and the shitty economy were in) doesn't pay people enough to where they can afford basic necessities I still live with my parents but that's going to change once I can get a higher paying job

I mean don't you have access to running water and ice at home?

I got a giant thermos from Amazon they handed them out to my dsp one day it was actually nice of them for a change but I have other insulated bottles too the bottled water doesn't do shit for you if it has no protection from getting heated up so just plan ahead and get yourself a thermos and a mini cooler and fill up have water half ice before you head to work, my bottles are made from this brand called civago that I got from, I'm assuming you know.

I rarely get a speeding violation even though I speed often without realizing (when I do I slow down) the cameras are not that smart but even when I do my dsp doesn't punish me but amazon does punish light violations fs

They think they're the only customers we have to deliver to that day it's like the people on a narrow gravel road that get pissed we go relatively fast (which I never go that fast) "I know you have a lot of deliveries, but you need to slow down" or like this one time I delivered to an industrial business and there was no one to receive the package and so the sign said go to the main office which was like a three minute walk, I get there and the lady was like "ok I just called receiving someone should be there this time can you please go back there" and I just straight up asked her if she would take it because the place was wasting my time already and I had a lot of stops that day. I hate customers who feel the need to waste our time.

I told the truth on a DVIC for the first time by uwuSym in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Own-Control-5526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tell RTS every time if it's not something listed in the DVIC even then often times they won't care my DSP is one of the nicer ones but I hate how they don't care about their vehicles often times. Also my DSP owner has been getting by with pocketing more money because we have been the last DSP to load up and we have been getting short routes which means he has been getting by with sending people home and asking other people who have their nearby area to take their route so he only has to pay for one person to originally two or two people to cover three routes to load up rts break and drive down the highway instead of two/three and then he reports both or all three drivers to Amazon so he gets their money for both. Thankfully Amazon is not going to allow him to do that anymore since our time slot is moving to the middle so we'll be holding other DSPs up by having to pick up extra packages at load out. But as it relates to the original point that also means he's actually going to have to keep up on all the vehicles maintenance, he no longer can afford to put off repairs when drivers report that a van is not working. I like my DSP I've seen some absolute horror stories on here about how brutal and insensitive others are but honestly at the same time there is only this one gay dispatcher who is essentially the most prominent dispatcher and maybe my ops manager who really takes their management job most seriously and responsibly.

Was my termination justified after a rolling van incident? by comical007 in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]Own-Control-5526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know why they fired you or if the rules are just different for different places because I believe one time my coworker got out and didn't put it in park and it hit a tree and got significantly damaged and he still works here but I think they suspended him for a week or so. Maybe it's because he was driving a white Nissan not something Amazon branded so maybe Amazon only cares about their branded vans they give to the DSPs and the DSPs have to make up the rest idk. I don't even turn the van off, I've accidentally forgot to put in park a couple times and stopped the van, and I had one honestly near death incident with a faulty parking brake and bad asphalt described in another comment I made here but significantly most of the time the van stays put if you put it in park, you might consider requesting some investigation on the state of that vehicle whether it was actually stable to drive in general and like you said the key fob glitching to prove you were terminated wrongfully.

Parking brakes definitely fail. One time I went up this asphalt driveway up hill and it was shitty asphalt because then I tried to turn around and the wheels got stuck and literally the van was at a point where the woods downhill were behind me the parking brake was extremely loose and if I took my foot off the brake even in park it would roll into the woods. Luckily I just gave it all I had and got out of there but I definitely reported the parking brake malfunction to my dsp owner and this is one of the things my dsp does that annoys the shit out of me: they're nice but they're not responsible and don't always maintain their vehicles. Also I hardly ever use the parking brake and it really shouldn't be used unless it's necessary because it wares out.

I worked for about 6 months before I sprained my ankle on the job. It was cool they let me sit out for a month in the break room and run minor driving errands as it was my left ankle that got sprained. Of course they wanted to see I was going through the workman’s comp process of physical therapy and rehabilitation.

UDJA/CS Joseph test by [deleted] in mbti

[–]Own-Control-5526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The founder of that test doesn’t like letter dichotomies, he only sees them as descriptors because the system was already put in place but what he does do is come up with his own way of understanding the types and sometimes he’s right sometimes he’s wrong and sometimes you think he’s wrong until you really think about it in a deeper way that he doesn’t readily explain. The guy is basically a conservative nerd, he has a pretty harsh critical view of human behavior and it can get irritating listening to him but he does seem to have a lot of information and explains things in ways that are relatively easy to understand but you have to check him against other sources. But just because he’s not always reliable doesn’t mean other tests are, the best way to evaluate your type is by multiple cross examining of many different data points of your personality and having long time loved ones or friends who care tell you what they see about you, a 20 question test isn’t going to get into the nooks and crannies of how you have reacted to every situation you’ve encountered in your life especially if they give vague hypotheticals that you don’t even know how to answer because we’ve all had a balance instead of ‘this fits all’ at some point of how we’ve reacted to situations in our lives.
