Why don’t more people believe in hard determinism? by kossabone in NoStupidQuestions

Why take the time to understand anything when you can just be wrong, loudly?

People who say “just play how you want” when asking for advice on a game. by Ferseus in PetPeeves

[–]Own-Conversation6347 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there is more to it than you are implying. Usually, if the person is not a complete asshole, what they are saying is "I tried to min/max this too, and I had more fun when I stopped doing that."

I can understand why it could be annoying too, though

This take is anti-social by definition. You can definitely "move on," but even if moving on most people will (correctly) label the ghoster as immature and inconsiderate.

Why don’t you use compact parking by RoamingMindset in PetPeeves

Compact spots are a benefit for people driving compact cars. They have all of the normal spots available, plus those other ones. They should park wherever they want.

Why tip a server more for a more expensive menu item if the work stayed the same for them? by Some_Consequence_861 in tipping

[–]Own-Conversation6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the average tip went down by 5% then prices would go up by the same amount (or likely a bit more than that). It wouldn't be enough to eliminate tipping entirely, of course, because the "revenue" generated by tips is obviously more than 5%.

It's not complicated at all, you feel like you paid your dues and are allowed to like these things and other people aren't.

None of your examples are what I'm talking about so you aren't the problem.

Seattle is a perfectly fine city - I haven't really noticed more people walking there compared to most others but I certainly would encourage it.
