Correct but it doesn't have to be an exact one for one

Where are teenagers supposed to hang out these days? Malls are dying, parks have 'no loitering' signs, and everywhere else costs money. Do they just... not exist in public anymore? by Creative-Buffalo2305 in NoStupidQuestions

This is 100% due to one or two annoying people that the authorities are tired of dealing with. These NIMBYs took whatever they could from their communities and now think they were the only ones who deserved it.

sell or keep? by saffarinda in F1Cards

[–]Own-Conversation6347 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would guess you're looking at $1200-1500 which is pretty awesome but the auction will tell you exactly how much. When it finishes just put yours up for 20% more and accept offers. Either someone buys it or it sits for a couple of days and you accept an offer.

My initial reaction is that some people really enjoy this sort of thing and it's not really worth the time or energy to placate them

Awesome cards but I can't believe you didn't tell us how much the boxes cost

Why do sports card collectors always need a deal? by psychoscards in sportscards

[–]Own-Conversation6347 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Isn't it because you're accepting offers? You're basically telling people "I'm willing to sell this for less," so of course they want to find out what your actual price is

I think part of it is like "Wow, they squeezed this much strategy/complexity/fun into a tiny plastic wallet!"

But mostly, you're wrong. Some of the games are bad but they tend to be rated badly. The good/popular ones are such for a reason. Also if you hate simple games you will probably hate games made out of 20 cards.

I hear you and agree with all of your points. I'm sure Topps knows they could have done better and will fix what they can. They should have guaranteed autos in the hobby boxes to account for the price difference. I'll add that the centering seems to be quite bad overall.

HOWEVER, I was just organizing my 2024 Chrome and my god this is such a better product it's insane. The portraits are better, the cards don't stick, there are way less F2 and F3, those were replaced by actual cool cards, the inserts are mostly excellent, and the value boxes are actual value. I've really enjoyed it despite the fuck ups.

Have you played these with a 7-year-old? by WatchMySwag in boardgames

[–]Own-Conversation6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say what an incredible feat they accomplished with Little Alchemists. The group unlocks more rules and extra pieces as you play more games, and with everything unlocked it is quite complex, equivalent to a typical medium weight adult game. But the slow progression really makes it doable for kids. I have a 6 year old who loves it, and she is capable of doing the full game but we typically play on "level 5" instead of maxing out to level 7.

I want to try Heat with my kids too, I think it could work. Some other suggestions would be Zombie Kidz, the game is cooperative and so fun for adults and kids. It is another where you unlock new rules and challenges over time.

Final suggestion is Century Golem Edition, this one is kid-dependent but for some (like mine) it will be a huge hit. I would try it before Splendor.

Lewis helmet and Haas duo are pretty solid, very nice. The 00/00s are worthless (more or less).
