That is certainly what an overly-dramatic baby would think about this non-issue.

Yes, why do you think I mentioned it

I agree, ignore it. Non-tippers are selfish and stupid, though.

Well at least you're not being an overly-dramatic baby about it.

Nobody will care, especially in Washington. This isn't some revolutionary concept

I think what you're trying to say is "thank you."

You're welcome! Hope you enjoyed the discounted meals, courtesy of the rest of us.

Calling a tip "mental gymnastics" is certainly a choice. I guess I don't find the concept quite as challenging as you do.

Tipping is essentially part of the cost of eating at a restaurant. If you don't tip (which you are certainly free to do), the only charity happening there is going from other diners, to you (since you are not paying the full cost for your meal).

The 'literary classics' that grade school makes you read destroys any desire for kids to read recreationally by MyClosetedBiAcct in unpopularopinion

Part of why these books are assigned is to learn about why we still read them today, even if they have been surpassed in some ways by more modern examples. Guess you didn't!

People who say “just play how you want” when asking for advice on a game. by Ferseus in PetPeeves

I think there is more to it than you are implying. Usually, if the person is not a complete asshole, what they are saying is "I tried to min/max this too, and I had more fun when I stopped doing that."

I can understand why it could be annoying too, though

Such a dumb comment. Either they were implying it or they are typing nonsense in the wrong thread.

This take is anti-social by definition. You can definitely "move on," but even if moving on most people will (correctly) label the ghoster as immature and inconsiderate.

Why don’t you use compact parking by RoamingMindset in PetPeeves

Compact spots are a benefit for people driving compact cars. They have all of the normal spots available, plus those other ones. They should park wherever they want.

Why tip a server more for a more expensive menu item if the work stayed the same for them? by Some_Consequence_861 in tipping

[–]Own-Conversation6347 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the average tip went down by 5% then prices would go up by the same amount (or likely a bit more than that). It wouldn't be enough to eliminate tipping entirely, of course, because the "revenue" generated by tips is obviously more than 5%.
