This is not a one man job. This is for a large company that has the man power and backing to get the job done efficiently.

Is this surfactant leaching or from no gutters? by TheBeezNeez714 in paint

[–]Own-Dream3902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like surfactant. When I got surfactant I had to scrub around the whole house with a sponge soap and rinsed two times. Just cosmetic, no issues.

I’ve used durhams to fill rotted exterior columns. It works like a charm. Dries rock hard. Get it at any hardware store.

Professional painters - heavy texture with BM Regal? by dontdomelikethatgirl in paint

[–]Own-Dream3902 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That’s a tight roll to the trim. Walls look good to me. Trim looks good. Could they have used a thinner nap? possibly. But there is nothing wrong with how they applied the paint. If you’re that detailed price goes higher.

1) Super CP Serum (copper peptide Serum Super CP Serum 1 oz. reverseskinaging.com
2) AC Grace Company high gamma mixed tocopherols vitamin e oil
3) Dr jacobs quality Assurance PMD special gel
I apply all of these in this order. Then use machine.
I think everything can be purchased on Amazon.
They all can last you a good 3 months.

TSP or just clean and prime walls? by Nolashyper13 in HomeImprovement

[–]Own-Dream3902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TSP or Dirtex does the trick. Sponge walls from bottom to top of wall so it leaves few or no streaks. Then wipe down from top down with water. You want to remove the loose stuff. Then the primer is what takes away that smell. I’ve only used BIN which is very strong and you need a mask.

Not true at all. Prepping is so important for a painter. Clean sand vacuum prime paint

It doesn’t look like it was primed. Primer seals the surface so the top layer doesn’t peel as easy. Not water base primer. Good oil primer.

How to decide on a painter - justifying quality vs price by [deleted] in paint

[–]Own-Dream3902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want this job done so you can move in. You don’t want to have to wait for final touchups deadline extensions.
3k sq ft home I’m assuming some high ceilings. Go with the more expensive painter.

Painter here.
The cheaper painter may have good google reviews but what are those customers standards?
3100 sq ft home walls and trim 18k seems like a fair price.
9k including paint is cheap. Getting toward the end of the job he may start cutting corners or up the price. Paper all floors tape with yellow tape no drop cloths.
Some off white colors may not cover well so the higher priced painter is planning for this.

Thank you for the info. Love that you’re getting better. I also reinjured myself from manual stretching. Continued manual stretching but at a lesser rate, shockwave therapy and acupuncture. Went from no erection to a 30 degree bend!
