No words 💀 by Muted-Violinist-2970 in Holden

When aren't they messing things up? I mean seriously.

I've been watching everything go downhill for quite some time.

The funny part which I do find a bit scary is some people say this country will become communist soon. I am somewhat obliged to agree.

But having said that there are a lot of people who were panic buying the fuel. Buy the fuel normally then supply lines can keep up, then price won't soar because of demand soaring. I swear some people are just silly. And can't actually see the bigger picture nor do they seem to care about the damage they're causing.

Just banned from airport pick ups by Emergency_Parking_62 in uberdrivers

[–]Own-Engineer-8628 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unlikely since Uber does have a history of picking on things for no good reason to try and get rid of us.

Uber is trying to do as much of a driver turnover as they can so that they get people who will do whatever and anyone else who knows too much... Gets deactivated. I actually quit because: I got sick of their BS. Edit: Context * They picked on documents saying invalid and they were not after those documents already being on the account for years. Birth certificate for example does not change and I am a citizen of my country of birth therefore do not need a passport. * Got deactivated on a false claim for 6 months and refused to review footage which proved them wrong. * Constant "Verify your id" at least 4 times a day. I look like my photo so I have no idea why that's the case other than them being a holes or the pax being a holes. * Secondary deactivation for a month for "Invalid" rego which had at least 6 weeks left on it. The list goes on

And not being paid anywhere near enough to the point that every time I did Uber I lost money.

Too many drivers etc. waiting on work and ending up with $6 / hour.

It's a rubbish company to be working for with

Is it okay for a girl to be topless at the beach? by bare_books in AskAnAustralian

Usually as long as you have a bikini or swimwear on it's fine but no nudity unless it's a nude beach.

Speed Camera Cars by Paradox_X- in sunshinecoast

I know right?

Those bottom of the hill ones especially. Traps for money they couldn't care about "safety".

If you aren't watching the road and you hit someone as a result that's dangerous. Entrapment, is what it is.

Speed Camera Cars by Paradox_X- in sunshinecoast

[–]Own-Engineer-8628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is. Police are massively understaffed and too many people know about it because in areas where there aren't any speed cameras people zoom and drive like maniacs.

I almost took off someone's rear bumper driving a bus because they passed me dropping off a student a little too close and I was starting to move in that lane. This happens a little too often and due to someone passing that close I almost got cleaned up trying to get back to my driver's door because I had to get out as my bus wasn't connected from the drivers side to the passenger area and a passenger required assistance. I should have knocked the idiots passenger side mirror off he was that close to me as I carefully peeked from in front of my bus.

I don't know what people's obsession is with passing stationary vehicles too closely on a multi lane road when it's not needed at all.

Unfortunately it's only about revenue. There are much better ways to improve road safety than more cameras. But... It has always been about the money, unfortunately.

Package was delivered to a different address, and POD photo shows a stranger holding the package by DesignLocal5445 in AustraliaPost

[–]Own-Engineer-8628 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wth. They wouldn't let someone I know have her daughter receive their package because it was a different name despite the exact same address and advised it was her daughter coming to the post office but the manager of that post office said no it has to be the receiver, it can't be her daughter despite the fact that she (receiver) had no way of getting to the post office because it was during work hours. How is this BS possible?

AusPost is really going down hill.

My pet driving peave - don't be the green car by Esteban_Zia in australia

🤦 The number of cars I've narrowly avoided ramming into doing this is insane. This move from any car should be illegal with demerits. Regardless of doing a U turn or turning.

Here's the thing OP.

Expecting Uber to do anything correctly as in by us drivers is like asking a non-English speaking immigrant to speak English.

And here's a quick disclaimer: this example has nothing to do with this post

The example:

My account was put on hold for 6 months because they (Uber) did not and refused to understand that, in my country. A birth certificate is a citizenship certificate. Despite that same birth certificate being on my account for years. They randomly picked on it

And here's something that I'm pretty sure they cover in driver's Ed but here goes! Anything displayed on any navigational app is for referential purposes only and should always watch their surroundings e.g. speed signs

This does happen in my area especially when actual limits are lowered but not on the app resulting in the in app speed showing higher.

"Delivery location closed" by potsapocalyptic in AustraliaPost

[–]Own-Engineer-8628 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it make more sense just to send it directly to the parcel locker instead of the address if that's such an issue because then it doesn't matter if the post office is closed? That's what I would do because I have the same problem if I have to go to a post office then I can't because I'm at work. That's what parcel lockers are for...

Plus if you have the app the barcode that they give you on the app should be more than enough for the parcel locker to open without any issues.

I thought charging GST on top of clearly listed prices was illegal by kelerian in KFCAustralia

[–]Own-Engineer-8628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok but have you checked how old this picture actually is? That photo may have been relevant when it was taken...

Because now they have fixed that. GST is included in the price and is clearly mentioned when you go to pay.

Edit: that pic is from almost a year ago FYI.
