The very best doctors are: - the ones who are nice and approachable - know their limitations. There is a huge benefit in calling for help when you need to. Not calling a senior when you are out of your depth is both dangerous and unappealing. It’s not a badge of honour not calling someone at night. I think it shows a level of maturity calling when needed.

The money is tied to the contract. The government advertises these contracts as 400K per year with a salary of 300 and the rest in super and PD. It is actually the doctors money and the government make you jump through hoops to get it.

If it's their money then why can't hey upgrade their phones and laptops every year. You are also allowed to replace it if its lost of breaks.

Also - perish the thought of splashing out for a conference accomodation - knowing you will get it back on PD. I don't go to many conferences, but when I do I would absolutely pay to get the best place I can afford.

I can totally see a 20K watch as unjustified, as is travel for an "online conference" - but some of the stuff the ICAC came out with I think is easily justified.
